We have booked our Tour with Budgetariang Lakwatsa and we had a great experience. I'd say book your tour ahead of time so pick up and drop off to Baywalk Park will be accommodated.

Not sure why this place got such a low review. Our experience was magical. The tour also includes a Dinner Buffet and it did not disappoint.

Our tour guide "Dodong" or as he calls himself "handsome" was so friendly and very knowledgeable. He shared some interesting facts about Fireflies while throwing jokes from time to time.

I looked for pictures on Facebook to see if it was worth it to include in our tour packages. I did not see any fireflies on the pictures so I wasn't sure what to expect. When we got there, there were really fireflies! Turns out, their light is just not that visible in the pictures.

I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat..

NOTE that there are two areas for Firefly Watching - Iwahig and Kitu-Kito.

Booked the tour with Maple Travel and Tours. The package includes being picked up from your hotel accommodation/prefered pick up point. Tour starts from the Puerto Princesa City Baywalk during dusk. The boat ride is around 20 minutes but you will not be bored since they have a very lively tour guide that gives a very informational details about Puerto Princesa, Baywalk and the fireflies. Then you will be transferred to another boat to tour the mangroves where the fireflies can be found. It pays to be able to take photos and videos to document the activity especially when your phone is able to take HD photos and videos. The experience with the fireflies is one worth remembering. The tour guide makes you interact with the fireflies which makes the activity very enjoyable and memorable. Before going back to the Baywalk, the guests will be sharing a sumptuous dinner prepared by the staff. The food was good and tummy-filling. Overall the tour was reasonable for its price.

Firefly mangrove river boat tour in night is a unique experience. Tour operator picked us up from the hotel in Puerto Princesa, Palawan to riverside. The tour included a delicious dinner also. Watching jungle full of fireflies is awesome. The boatman explained all the things about fireflies in mangrove and explained how to protect them. No light is allowed in the jungle. Only boatman cum guide has a torch light. Complete darkness is required to keep fireflies at ease. it looked like the trees are decorated with lights for Christmas. It is mesmerizing to watch the fireflies- a memorable experience.

Lovely people and a wonderful experience. The boat tour is comfortable and relaxing, whilst the fireflies dance around you. Do bare in mind that your experience will differ depending on luminosity in the environment.

It was one of a kind activity that I am highly recommending others to try. I love how our guide was knowledgeable not only about the fireflies but knows the constellations as well. It was also interesting to know about the plankton that made the wood stick under water light up. We were told that more fireflies are visible in the month of December.

Worth the effort. No need for a tour. Get a taxi to drop you off at the firefly site, which is 30 minutes fro PP and should cost 1000 peso, including the taxi drivers waiting time to take you back into Peurto Princesa. The boat is 900 peso, and can take three people. Arrive early just after dusk to avoid the waiting times. The DIY tour should cost you around 1900, but perhaps cheaper if you negotiate with the taxi driver.

Superb!!! Firefly watching is a must when you're in Puerto Princessa.

While cruising the river, the mangroves light up like Christmas trees. The fireflies react to noise, so you have to call out to them (like making silly noises, cat-calling, whisting, anything) which is very fun to do. Btw, this tour is a for-your-eyes-only kind since using camera flash is prohibited.

Plus, if you're lucky, you can star gaze & see bio luminous planktons along the river.

The tour also includes a delicious buffet dinner at a floating restaurant 😋.

Had a great join in tour with other guests in a boat, hearing and seeing the fireflies as we went around the passable area.

Go early and have a picnic. If you don't mind smelling like kimchi consider wearing EM5 to repel mosquitos.
