I’ve been to this archeological site before, I believe in the late 90’s. I’m back this year and it’s changed quite a bit. At the entrance there is now a small museum that displays the artifacts of the Wari, Ychma & Inca cultures. Past the museum you’ll find the 1st architectural site, the Acllawasi de Pachacamac. There’s also a small farm to your left as your making your way around the site.

The next site we visited was The Temple of the Son. We walked around the entire structure and got a pretty good view of the ocean and the Islands of Pachacamac which looks like a wale swimming in the ocean.

It was pretty hot so we didn’t continue further. I would suggest applying sun tan lotion or wearing a broad-brimmed bucket hat. Also, you should bring something to drink or buy something from the small cafe which is located at the exit of Museum. Also be ready to walk and climb quite a lot. The complex is huge. You can drive in but just up to a certain point. The rest is by foot.

Amazing to see! Worth the trip. Hiring a guide was extremely helpful for understanding the site. Impressive to see in person. Our guide, Marco, was extremely knowledgeable. Museum has many interesting artifacts and interpretive displays. The pictures don't do it justice- this site is huge! Be sure to bring a vehicle or hire transportation to and from the site as it's further from the center of Lima.

We took a car but pretty you can go by bus.
The museum is a great introduction to the site. It also have a coffee shop and a gift shop.

Very interesting historical site, the museum is very good, and there are a lot of explanations in English. To view the entire site you need a couple of hours and a lot of walking, so take plenty of water, and wear good shoes.

What an amazing place! I didn't make it to Machu Picchu this trip, but this little sidebar on our way to Lunahuaná was absolutely stellar.

The museum is incredibly informative and the ruins have signs that describe the area in good detail, and both Spanish and English, for the most part. Only a few signs were Spanish only.

This was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend it.

A great inexpensive place to visit not too far from downtown Lima (Miraflores) lots of interesting ruins to see from 900bc to 1530. The guides provide useful information and gladly answer questions in Spanish or English but personally I felt a little rushed by them. After the guided tour we went back on our own to take some cool pictures. Just don't lose your ticket stub.

This place has excellent views and really interesting history. Make sure to bring sunscreen, a hat and comfy shoes because it gets really hot as it is dessert. We did part of the tour with a car, so that saved us a lot of walking. The guide jumped in our car with us and showed us where to stop to go for a walk to see the different areas of the city.

Small but informative museum. Did not hire a tour guide and walked the site at my own pace. Took around an hour to do the museum and walk the site. Easy to get Ubers in the area.

You can get here by bus from city center in front of the art museum. Bus no 8510. It’s take 1.5 each way and is directly to the site. Cost 7/sol. Open every day except Monday.

See review for Templo del Sol. Pachacamac is an amazing place close to Lima. This site dates back 200 BC/BCE or over 1000 years before the Incas/Inkas. See the pictures for time line of the three cultures that occupied this site next the Pacific Ocean. I encourage to discover pre-Inka Peru. Also Caral is close to Lima which the oldest city in the Americas -2600 BCE

Just to observe this structure makes you marvel at ancient civilizations architectural ability. I have read about some of these things in school and seeing it with your eye is so surreal.

This is a wonderful part of history of lima. Everyone should visit Pachucamac to see what ancient history here was like. Learn about the four civilizations that were here before the Spanish arrived.

Great place, walked around with a English tour guide that cost 30s extra and then did the rest of the Tour without a guide, museum + full route took around 2 hours walking at a nice pace.
We went on a Sunday and took an Uber to get there and back, we did not have any issues ordering the Uber back, and there are also many taxis outside. Went at 9:00 am and came back at around 11:30.
