Amazing spot to recharge. We went on a Saturday and almost never got a room at one of the hospedajes next to the springs. We rented a bike and loved the drive. The road is narrow with many potholes and steep cliffs. But if you are confident, the drive is amazing and the change in landscape and sights are something to see!

It’s amazing to swim in the hot springs after a long walk ! I didn’t feel sore the day after thanks to the bath. We stayed in a room with two large beds inside the thermal bath area for 100 soles. The room doesn’t have electricity and the bathrooms outside either but being able to swim in the morning is just great. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Staff is very friendly !

Safe for foreigners. Nice place, but the best is to stay overnight on a site, on weekdays; to avoid weekend crowds and swim early morning or late night. Very safe for travellers; there are security guards everywhere. And they are caring and friendly. I stayed in the private room house up hill; for 100 sol; it was cold at night; so I swam in hot springs before going to bed. Would recommend to visit it. They change water every few days, so it is well kept. Food was a bit of challenge; very simple; but ok for 2-3 days; there is a restaurant when you walk our thermals🤨and at the parking; but the choice of food was very limited to 1-2 dishes. Thermal water is high vibration and good quality for healing ❤‍🩹 dna 🧬 repair and meditation.

Loved the hot springs at Lares!!! The place was very clean and the people who run it are friendly. The water is phenomenal. There are pools of different temperatures. Some are very hot, up to 118°F. Other pools are a more luke warm temp, and there is one pool that is nice and cool, probably around 60°F.

The road to get to Lares is quite windy and you need to travel through the mountains to get there! If you get motion sickness I recommend bringing some Dramamine or something to help with an upset tummy. There are tons of really tight switchback turns that you need to pass through in the mountains and it can be quite nauseating. Other than that, the destination is lovely! You can pitch a tent or rent a room to stay overnight.

Wonderful place. We went with zero expectations via a scooter and the drive through the mountains alone was honestly magical. The hot springs and warm hospitality of the hotel right outside the gates was so needed and rewarding after the long cold journey there.

The springs have pools of varying heat ranging from extremely hot to Luke warm. Bring lotion and water because they will dehydrate you.

The place is relatively hard to reach. You can take a colectivo from Calca and walk later. Calca - Lares root takes 1h 40m. Last colectivo from Lares to Calca is at 6pm. Entrance fee for gringos is 12 soles. There is no suggestion of towels or slippers. A swim cap is not required. Water is very good. Most warm pool has 48C degrees. While I had being there I didn’t see any tourists. Looks like only locals.

Great place to relax after the hike through the mountains, at least if you take the route backwards, otherwise this apparently is where most people start the trek. Soaking in the hot water after walking for a few days was heavenly. Not sure if I would have liked it as much if it was before the hike and cold nights in the mountains.

Simply amazing. U can camp there on a place and also close to the pools are very cheap rooms for rent. Area is perfect for hiking and very relaxing. In a pueblo u can find a guy that prepare wine from honey its worth to try also!!

This place was surreal. After a three day Lares Trek hike, getting to this place was such an amazing surprise. Its a real treat for a city person. There is a trail across the river that gives great views of the valley and there is a cave with some bones in it that is cool to check out. To get there, climb the stairs across from the gift shop.

Awesome place and well worth the travel there! If you can, bring a tent and stay the night on site.

We travelled there from Calca (1:40h) and then walked to the hot springs. We camped there and enjoyed a night with exclusive access to the springs and a star-filled sky.

Note: the warm water of the springs is yellow due to the minerals that come with it. There are barely noticeable particles in it.

Off the beaten path but a beautiful way to spend an afternoon. The drive from Cusco is worth it alone.

We rented a motorcycle and did a two day trip from Cuzco to Lares and back. This is not a "tourist" destination with trinkets. But if you are into back country adventures and meeting locals than this is a must adventure. The hot springs are amazing and open 24 hours without supervision. We stayed in a dirt floor tin hut room next to a roaring river and the warmest hand woven wool blankets you could ask for... all for the low price of 3 dollars and a candle to light the room. I can't wait to go back again one day. A word of caution: if you are not taking public transportation, the road is precarious and dangerous so please honk or be careful at every blind turn on the road.

Uuppssss I highly recommend it. As it is far away it is better to stay. There is accommodation. There are taxis for a great price shared
