El Rancho Hotel

This is an excellant place if you want to spend a few days staying in the midst of nature. The hotel consists of a collection of small cabins surrounded by tropical trees, fruit trees, and flowers. My room was bright and airy and the bed was comfortable. There were plenty of shelves for storing clothes, etc. Everything was clean, keeping in mind that this is a cabin in the jungle and not a downtown hotel. I did kill a small spider in my room and chased out a grasshopper when I left the door open. Flying insects were very rare - I saw (and killed) one mosquito on my porch.

The morning breakfast was very good and was served on the porch. One morning breakfast included a fresh avocado from the tree on the property, which was a treat. And anytime I wanted I could literally step off my porch and pick fresh mandarins. The Tulumayo River flows right next to the property and you can hear it all the time. It's very pleasant to sit on the porch and read with the sound of the river in the background.

My cabin was on the edge of the property so the wifi was very weak and intermittent. However if I walked just a dozen steps towards the main house it became strong and fast. I clocked it at 5 megs. So if you get a cabin on the edge you may need to go to a porch in one of the other cabins to do a lot of internet. I didn't do much so I mostly just used my data - there was very good 4G coverage.

Of course there is a drawback of being out here on the edge of town, and that is that nothing else is close other than a few small stores on the nearby main street. Otherwise you need to catch a mototaxi to downtown. I never had to wait more than two minutes for one. I just ate a big lunch in town everyday and then bought some tuna, crackers, and snacks to take back for a light dinner later.

In three months travel in Peru this was by far one of my favorite places to stay in.

Es un lugar muy cerca del río con unas vistas impresionantes de los cerros muy cerca del centro de San Con buena comunicación en MotoKar. Atención excelente, muy cercana. Desde luego algo que no nos podemos perder de venir a San Ramón en la selva central del Perú.
