This was a really large church that was built on an Inca site to show who was boss after 1500. Very pretty but you can see the remains of the Inca temple (and how the tenacity of the Incan people remained). Ticket separate from the normal Cusco ticket, but a very worthwhile attraction.

They only took cash soles when I went. This is an incredible site to visit while in Cusco. The Incas were so impressive in their building and design. I loved just sitting at the edge of the courtyard seeing the beautiful Incan walls and the stunning Spanish covenant. Take your time here and don’t miss the gardens. The roses smelled amazing. There are tons of people trying to sell pictures with baby animals and paintings, just be polite if you are not interested.

A fantastic historical place to visit while in Cusco. We came around 3PM and there was no line at the ticketing booth, and the place was relatively empty for us to explore freely. Didn’t hire any tour guide, but we felt like not missing any of the stories/ historical info as most of the displays have solid descriptions. Budget at least 45mins-1hour here

We came here on a public holiday during the raining season, and there’s only a short line to buy tickets. It’s a nice place to see the archaeological site of the Incan temple of Sun and also a beautiful garden in the backyard. Highly recommended!

What a cool place to visit. To be able to see the original Inca walls and what was replaced by the Spaniards is amazing. The Incan construction and the precision is truly something to marvel at. The way it's been preserved is good to see and will keep this place available for future generations. If you're in Cusco, this is a very nice thing to see during the day. It won't take you more than a couple of hours and it's walkable from the center.

A really sad historical place to visit, get the full story of how colonial Spanish conquered the Inca people and destroyed most of the culture back then. This is the standing testament of the Europeans back in the 1800's.

The building itself is beautiful, but the foundation - the Inca built foundation is even more amazing. There are several displays and references of how Inca's worshipped their Gods in here as well.

While there is information that you can download, we decided to hire a guide and it turned out to be a fabulous decision.
The church itself is fairly nondescript on the outside, although there are lots of religious paintings and works of art upstairs, which also has a view into the church itself should it be closed as it was on our visit
It costs extra to climb the bell tower so we demurred as I feel the 30 soles entrance should already cover that.
In any case, we were more interested in the Inca temple and our guide brought that alive in a way that no dry prose could. We learned a great deal from him about the history, building techniques and tools, their religion, how the temple and grounds looked then, and the great importance of this temple. The main altar of the Temple of the Sun seems a little sad now, having been stripped of all its original splendor as have all the temples and grounds.
Shame the Spanish desecrated it all by building their church on top of it and looting all the gold.

Spent half a day in here, we didn't get a guide but the map with numbered locations which was really detailed and the locations have extra info printed in English. The guided tour was 1 hour, we spent longer. Small extra cost to go up the tower, 5 soles I think. Great history lesson.

Amazed by the seismic resistant architecture of the Incas.

The Spanish Colonial architecture has got destroyed by the earthquakes but there's only a minor displacement of stones in the lightning temple!

The rectangular and trapezoidal windows, the 4 degree and 5 degree inclinations, the chemical etching, the various tools used, the mathematical precision in allowing light to fall perpendicular in the throne area etc etc - Wow!

Must visit place in Cusco, which was the capital of the Incas.

Great place, beautiful and historic. But very sad and mad after learning its history and the destroy by the rude Spain colonizers. Okay to get a guide, note that there are a few English interpretation board aside. Mind the quality of guide

Visit when you come to Cusco before visiting any other heritage sites. It’s 10mins walking distance from main plaza. Recommend is a tour guide, you can explore the place on your own as well with the help of brochure they provide.

What a beauty! I'm very glad we visited Qorikancha during our trip to Cusco. It was an excellent experience to learn about the history of these Incas ruins. You can get your tickets the same day at the entrance. I recommend to get a tour guide for your visit.

Qoricancha and Santo Domingo Convent. The Qoricancha temple was one of the most sacred and vital temples of the Incan Empire. Originally richly decorated temple with walls covered in gold. Santo Domingo church was integrated to the temple after the Spanish conquest.highly recommend to visit this place if you’re in Cusco.

Great place to learn about the history of the Inca: their technique of stone mason; what left of what they built…

My visit to Qurikancha in Cusco, Peru, was nothing short of extraordinary! This historical gem and museum provided an immersive experience into the rich tapestry of the region's story. The art exhibits beautifully narrated the cultural narrative, adding depth and context to the journey through history.

I highly recommend splurging a bit and ascending to the bell tower, as the panoramic views are simply breathtaking. The temporary art expositions were a delightful surprise, offering an opportunity to support local artists and take home a piece of Peruvian creativity.

Beyond its historical significance, Qurikancha boasts lush green spaces that provide a tranquil retreat amidst the bustling city. Spotting hummingbirds flitting about added an extra layer of charm to the visit.

One unexpected highlight was the remarkably clean and uniquely designed restrooms, adorned with old wooden panels, adding a touch of rustic elegance to the facilities.

Overall, Qurikancha exceeded my expectations in every way. It's a must-visit destination for anyone seeking to immerse themselves in the cultural and historical richness of Cusco. Five stars without hesitation!

Great place loaded of peruvian history. Make sure you have a ckear arrangement with your guide. They are always trying to be ambigous with their offers so then they will want you to pay more or adding other people to your "private group", just don't let them. 😊

It is a magnificent testament to the grandeur of the Incan Empire. Originally a richly decorated temple with walls covered in gold, it's fascinating to see how it was ingeniously integrated into the Spanish colonial architecture of the Santo Domingo Church after the conquest. This place holds a profound sense of history and is a brilliant symbol of the blend of cultures. A must-see for any history or architecture enthusiast visiting Cusco.

Spanish colonists destroyed everything as usual. But still plenty of Inca architecture remains here. Spanish church is extremely ugly as usual like the others cross the world.

Consider to hire a guide for 20-30 sol on the entrance but be sure to talk to them before making a decision.

Entrance fee is s/15 for foreigner.
