Casa Del Maestro is the place to be. After looking through several retreats, I got caught up by the essence of their webpage, started chatting with Matt and it was an immediate inner confirmation that here is where I should have my first experience with the Medicine.

What could have happened in the next days, was never on my range of thoughts/feelings, it surpassed any possible expectation I could have had.

From Matt and Anya, to the Maestros, to the Family of Casa, it’s been an 11 out of 10. I felt very safe since the very first moment, embraced by people with a huge inner wisdom and big hearted.

Food is amazing, facilities connected with Nature, joy and happiness in every corner.

The place where you can be yourself.

I cannot describe how grateful i am to have visited Casa Del Maestro. The medicine, the facilities, the food, the staff , maestro's. Everything from beginning untill the end was well organized.

These people put their heart and soul into their work.

as every taxi driver in Iquitos says: Don Alberto is the best. I've been to an other retreat before and had an phenomenal experience, but Casa is home for me. They really and truly took it to another level.

This is the real deal. It is impossible that you will be dissappinted coming to this retreat.

Maestro Alberto is a true master, and the team is excellent. Very comfortable and simple accommodations, excellent staff. A family environment. I have been with Maestro and his team for many ceremonies and always felt safe and taken care of, and the results have truly changed my life. It's a long journey to get there from the US but really worthwhile.

I never imagined finding myself in the Peruvian jungle for an ayahuasca experience. I'm usually a bit skeptical, but when I decided to go to Casa del Maestro, I didn't have a single doubt. I just went for it, not really knowing what to expect. And let me tell you, they really know how to run things there. Matt, Anja, and Eric not the forget don Alberto himself are the real deal. They create such a safe and welcoming space for our ceremonies.

From the moment I arrived, I could tell how organized and sincere they were. They made sure we felt safe and supported as we delved into the deepest parts of our minds. I'm so grateful for their dedication. And even after the retreat ended, they continued to offer support. It's a nice touch that really wraps up the whole journey.

My stays at Casa del Maestro have been marvelous adventures in plant medicine, community, and the beauty of the Amazon. Maestro Don Alberto Torres Davila and his son, Maestro Eliseo Torres Rodriguez, are true medicine men from a long family lineage of healers. Their integrity is beyond reproach and their kindness, humility, and generosity is evident in every action.

Maestro Alberto, now in his 60s, began learning from the plants at the age of 8 and is an incredible healer, guide, and role model in the medicine space. He and his family operate the Casa alongside Matt and Anna who guide and facilitate the entire experience. The Casa is located amidst pristine jungle and the accommodations make you feel safe and cared for. After the retreat, Matt and Anna provide support during the integration period and know the importance of the work that is done once you return home. The experience at the Casa and the months after returning home have been hugely transformational as the plant spirits continue to guide and support me.

This place is pure tranquility. The medicine really gets enhanced when you’re on Maestro Alberto’s Land, eating his food and drinking his brew. Magical place.

A truly life changing experience! The team is amazing, the group was pure joy and the Maestro is the real deal (in training since he was 8 year of age) and just a purely loving man ☺🙏 This is the only place I will ever go to for the medicine!

Highly Recommended.

During my stay at Casa Del Maestro I spent most of my time, when I wasn’t deep in my process, mouth agape marveling at how special this place is.

It seems like it’s out of a different time. Family style, down to earth, intimate, and grounded in what matters. You won’t find anything particularly tailored to tourists - unless it helps bridge the gap between cultures in order to improve your ability to work with the medicine.

That is the focus, and in that regard you’ll find all the help you need. Matt and Anya are highly available and happy to talk, educate, and build that bridge so you can focus on why you’re really there. On the other side of that bridge is a very deep, rich, longstanding traditional healing lineage with much to offer those of us with no such tradition.

Abundant space is left in the time in between. You can fill it with emails or podcasts or whatever your time filler of choice may be…or not. You can go to the local swimming hole and cover yourself in mud…or not. Walk the beautiful property or go for a jungle hike, or not. Yoga, or not. It becomes evident how powerful allowing yourself to do nothing can be, particularly in such a healing container. Matt and Anya model this subtly, hanging out with the participants doing “nothing” occasionally. Perhaps a conversation is sparked up in that time. Perhaps not. No doubt there is plenty on their plate that needs doing. Instead, they regularly made time to just be with us.

The staff (mostly family of Maestro Don Alberto) is on point. They clean your room, do your laundry, and serve up three amazing home cooked meals a day, and all the while seem to be having a good time; genuinely happy that you’re there. There’s a light hearted whistle while you work vibe and even the kids want to chat you up, regardless of how terrible your Spanish is. I was unprepared for how awesome the food was.

All together, it’s an incredible setting designed to enhance the purpose at hand: profound healing through plant medicine. Looking around at the less than a dozen other faces in my cohort, there is no doubt that many lives were changed for the better in those 12 days. Including mine.

Casa del Maestro is a beautiful, family run retreat center. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and incredibly conducive to healing. They keep the groups small, which truly helps the individuals to grow with the medicine, the shamans and each other. I highly recommend Casa del Maestro to anyone looking to change their lives!

How do you write a Google review for a sanctuary that provides medicine for the deepest wounds of the soul? Not sure. But I can say Don Alberto Torres Davila is a living legend of a curandero (medicine man) in the Ucayali region of the Amazon and when I met him years ago I understood why. His humility, generosity, kindness + compassion, sense of humor, deep wisdom and expertise carried down from multiple generations of his lineage, and the absolute purity of the love with which he practices Amazonian medicine has no parallel.

So I was very excited when I learned that he began a retreat center of his own. His son, Eliseo (also a maestro and a very kind soul), the many beautiful souls that comprise the rest of his family, as well as the peaceful bucolic farm land on which the center is situated all play a palpable role in the medicine. That applies equally to Matt Toussaint who is as incredibly wise, caring, joyful, and loving as a manager as he is a practitioner of the medicine. I've watched as Anya Petrova too has helped so many people from around the world navigate ceremonies with genuine compassion, steadfast dedication, and love. I love and trust all of them implicitly and will cherish all of the moments we have shared together for the rest of my days.

Plant Medicine at it's finest. The Casa is a family run retreat where everyone has a deep appreciation for Medicine work. The rural farm style setting provides an incredible opportunity for travelers to connect with Spirit, heal, learn and grow.
