Crowne Plaza Panama Airport, an IHG Hotel

Got recommendations from a Panama FB page. Selected this place for last night in Panama because of their shuttle to PTY. The cost was reasonable for the value. Spent afternoon at the pool. Dinner in the restaurant was good (it offered a buffet or off-menu.)
The shuttle leaves once an hour on the hour. Ours was full but not completely. Those who took taxis (that were waiting in the parking lot) weren't that far ahead in the TSA line.

Friendly staff and clean rooms.
They offer lemon water at the lobby, very refreshing after a long journey.
Shuttle bus every hour to the airport. The driver helped us with heavy luggage. Nice place to stay if you have an early flight.

This is the perfect hotel for early morning flight out of PTY. It is not your typical airport hotel. Beautiful lobby reception area, bar has nice seating/working area. Outdoor pool (definitely not expected when your across the street from the airport). Our room was modern, comfortable, very clean, great shower, AC worked well, and the staff was friendly & helpful. To top it off breakfast was included. On our way in, the gas station was right next door so you could refuel the rental car and be ready for drop off literally across the street in the morning. Highly recommend and will definitely use again.

We booked three different places to stay in Panama and this was most decent. All of Panama as a third world country is clearly impoverished and do not need more than a day or two to visit. Traffic is horrific and would not recommend a rental. Overall, will not be back to Panama again.

Forget stuffy VIP lounges – for our 9-hour layover in Panama City, the Crowne Plaza was a revelation! Just a quick mile from the airport with a free hourly shuttle zipping back and forth, it turned those dreaded transit hours into a blissful mini-vacation.

From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere was a warm welcome compared to the airport's sterile hum. Friendly staff greeted us with smiles and whisked our luggage away, immediately setting the tone for a relaxing stay.

* **Poolside paradise:** Sun loungers beckoned from the sparkling pool, offering a perfect spot to soak up some Vitamin D and forget we were even in transit. The bar even whipped up refreshing cocktails to complete the escape.
* **Recharge and refuel:** Breakfast was a delicious buffet extravaganza, perfect for fueling up for the next leg of our journey. Fresh pastries, fluffy eggs, and tropical fruits provided a taste of Panamanian sunshine on a plate.
* **Sweet dreams guaranteed:** The room was a haven of comfort. The bed was a cloud of fluffy perfection, and the bathroom spacious and spotless. We actually slept like babies, which is unheard of in airport purgatory!

**Beyond the essentials:**

The Crowne Plaza went above and beyond to make our short stay special. The free Wi-Fi kept us connected, and the gym gave us a chance to stretch our legs after hours cramped in the plane. We even discovered a charming little cafe serving local coffee and pastries – a delightful touch we didn't expect.

**Verdict:**

For anyone stuck in a Panama City layover, ditch the crowded airport lounges and head straight for the Crowne Plaza. It's a haven of comfort, delicious food, and unexpected delights, all just a quick shuttle ride away. We left feeling refreshed, recharged, and ready to tackle the next flight with smiles.

**Bonus tip:** The hotel even offers luggage storage, so you can explore the city hands-free if your layover allows.

Quick and conveniently located next to the airport. Rooms were clean, and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I have offered by the hotel.

Great hotel, although we often find the breakfast service haphazard and always have to ask for coffee even when they are offering it to guests who arrive and sir down later! My only gripe really. The airport shuttle has changed the timings to accommodate the new terminal, something it would have been helpful to be told when booking, but there is no info given. We waited 45 minutes and gave up, eventually jumping in an over priced taxi. I have attached a photo of the new schedule so others are at least aware of the timings.

Hotel was 👍🏽 great. Just needed better information regarding the shuttle service from airport. Waited almost hour and a half. Ended up taking a taxi, wasn't happy about that after a long International flight 🙃.

Quick check in and booking. Super kind and attentive staff. Solid beds and showers. Nothing fancy but perfect for an overnight layover stay in Panama. Gorgeous reception and pool area. Quick taxi! Half mile from the airport. Can’t beat it!

It worked really well for a long layover. The airport shuttle runs once every hour. It leaves the hotel at the hour (not sure about start and end time though) and stops at the airport for pick ups a little after quarter after the hour. Service was good. The room was big and comfortable. The breakfast was convenient. My children also enjoyed the pool and field.ff

Very nice hotel. The gym and pool are amazing. Had a very mediocre club sandwich at the restaurant. Very clean rooms and clean hotel. Airport shuttle runs every hour on the hour to and from the airport (terminal 2 pickup 1:25, 2:25, 3:25 and so on… terminal 1 1:35, 2:35, 3:35 etc). Airport is 2 minutes away.

Best airport hotel I’ve ever seen. Usually airport hotels are pretty sterile environments, with people just passing through on their way to some other place. This place felt like a resort. People hanging out by bar or the pool, very lively and fun environment, and the staff is genuinely kind an friendly. We arrived in Panama late at night, and had intended to just stay at this hotel overnight and leave first thing in the morning, but we actually ended up making it part of our trip, and hanging out by the pool for the afternoon on our check-out day. Very pleasantly surprised by this place!

Great hotel to stay when you land at the PTY airport or the day before you leave PTY airport. Impeccable service. The rooms are clean and spacious. The pool and gym are fantastic. The grounds are well kept. The best part is the buffet presentation. Excellent food 👏👏👏
I would stay over and over again.

Really, no complaint. Food is a bit pricey but really good. Rooms are clean, and the staff is super friendly. Close to the airport. Definitely recommends.

Excellent customer service. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is great, Comfortable and clean. Kid friendly! The breakfast and lunch buffet were amazing. Fresh ingredients and great variety. Fast and very friendly service. They had a shuttle only 15 minutes away from Tucumen. They offered me a taxi because we wanted to be early (shuttle is free for taxi we paid $10). We are coming back to Panama to stay here again. One of the best hotel experiences we had.

The room is confortable. The breakfast amazing. But what i like the most is the staff they are very respectful and honest, we left the hotel and in the airport we find out that we forgot an important amount of cash in the room’s desk, we called and they found and hold for us to pick it up. Thanks to the all staff

Hotel is beautiful, the front desk staff are very personable. We found the restaurant night staff very negligent in giving us any kind of service, 2 star for that. The music that was playing was extremely loud and was hard to have a conversation with my wife.

Very clean and comfortable room. The restaurant was good and open until 11 pm, which was nice after a late flight.

This hotel is very clean ( you can see it, feel it and smell it), awesome food, friendly staff and reasonable prices on the items they have for sale. My husband slept like a baby on the comfortable bed. Will stay here again!!!
