Amazing tour. I had a 1 on 1 tour with Carlos. The tour was a hands on experience from growth of the coffee seed and plant it early all the way to the processing of the coffee. (All which they do on sight). They also have a vast array of other fruit trees. They also gave me a free goody bag to take home (with a free pound of coffee). I learned a lot and felt very valued. I took coffee tours at 3 places and this is by far the best tour. (Quantity and quality).

We took a $30 main tour and it was worth it. The guide,- Carlos has a passion for what he is doing. He explains the topic in a good way, so that you don’t feel like during the lecture, but a friendly chat. If you want not just to get a knowledge about coffee but to feel Boquete I would absolutely advise a tour with Carlos from Ruiz coffee!

Great coffee place to try and visit in Boquete. They have a small cafe with big grinding machine display. Coffee beans are dried out in the vicinity too. We love their mocchacino and ginger bread!

Nice little cafe just a bit outside of town. Plenty of parking space right next to it. Tried their Geisha coffee, very aromatic. Came with a introduction card that explains the coffee they product in their farm. Service was good. If you have time, you can sign up for their tour at their farm.

Very interesting tour and talk from Carlos about coffee in Panama, the Ruiz farms, and how coffee farms fit into the local economy. Finish with a quick cupping (coffee tasting) session!

At Café Ruiz you can drink a good Panamanian coffee (for coffee lovers: also the expensive geisha coffee!), but they also organise a great coffee tour! Highly recommended!

The tour is organized for small groups and takes approx. 3 to 4 hours. You first get a presentation and after that all steps of the coffee growing and production process are explained and shown. But you also have plenty of time and opportunities to ask questions. In addition our tour guide Carlos knows a lot about coffee, he speaks English very well and a big plus: he is quite funny. So we were well informed ánd never had a dull moment! Of course the tour ends with a tasting and you can buy your favorite coffee at their tiny shop.

Found my favorite coffee again. It is located in a new location, across the street from where they used to be. Wonderful cappuccino! We stocked up on coffee for the house. They mentioned you can make orders from Panama City at the World Trade Center but not sure which office.

We made a coffee tour at Café Ruiz and it was just amazing. Our tour guide, Carlos, was really really good. My girlfriend and I were lucky to get a private tour because we were the only ones attending at that day. Carlos picked us up at the hotel, drove us to one of the plantations of Cafe Ruiz and told us everything about coffee in Panama, the company and the process of growing and processing coffee. In the end we made a tasting and now we feel like better informed about coffee than ever. I can really recommend doing a coffee tour with Cafe Ruiz - and their cafe is also very nice, especially the very good banana bread!

Good coffee and pastries, good service. Nice small porch to enjoy and watch birds in the flowers hanging from it. Bathroom was also very clean. They have a large indoor seating area as well if it's raining. Overall, one of the nicer coffee shops in Boquete, with a good selection of beans for sale as well.

They moved across the street (in case Maps is still sending you to the old location). Amazing Geisha coffee, and flavored coffee as well. Accessible spot for Geisha coffee tasting, however, do note that there are other specialized coffee farms up in Los Naranjos which also offer a similar service, and have coffee tours and other amenities.

Excellent tour, the guide Carlos was funny, and knowledge on all aspects of coffee, and the community. Had the opportunity to speak with one of the company owners who came to our table and talked with us at length about various topics of life. Very beautiful and humble family. The coffee was amazing, learned so much, I was such a coffee idiot.

This is a great local cafe at a working coffee processing plant and roasters. The coffee is amazing! They have decent WiFi. Friendly staff. Available to purchase coffee beans, cacao powder and treats. Highly recommend.

Best coffee I've ever had. Superb flavor and knowledgable, friendly staff. We pushed back our travel time to be able to return one more time and stock up on coffee to bring back to the states for ourselves and friends.

A few years ago I visited Cafe Ruiz, took the long tour and learned a lot about the whole story of making good coffee. The guide knew all aspects of coffee, told us a lot about the community and was funny, too. What a difference of growing coffee compared to other countries with mass production.

Loveliest Café in Panama
We really enjoyed staying at Café Ruiz. Besides the great Coffee they offer it was the very welcoming athmosphere what makes this place stunning. We enjoyed it so much that we came here repeatedly. We also did a great coffee tour and learned much about coffee. It opened my eyes about the taste of coffee and makes me now really enjoydrinking good coffee.
We also met the 93-year-old owner Mr Ruiz and get to know his daughter who is a lovely woman. We really enjoyed talking with both of them and with the staff, as well. We felt so welcomed and comfortable here. Thank you for making our stay this great.
