Heliconia B&B

We stayed at the Heliconia B&B for our nature and enjoyed a wonderful adventure / experience. At the B&B rooms were clean-comfortable, with great shared space for relaxing. The team guided us to Coiba -snorkeling, hiking by day and we camped next to the roaring ocean at night. When we returned to the B&B they guided us to great spots for more hikes and wildlife. All was excellent - fresh home made food and deep knowledge of the area, and expertise on flora/fauna.

Kees and Loos are lovely hosts and you feel very welcomed there. We stayed at the B&B and also took a 2 day snorkeling and wildlife tour of Coiba with Kees thru their tour company tanager tourism. Kees has such a wealth of knowledge of the fauna and flora of the area and we learned and saw so much. What a paradise Coiba is we are so thankful we had the knowledge of Kees to help us see and enjoy it.

The Hosts are fantastic and always open for questions. The accomodation was the most comfortable and relaxing that I had in all of Panama!
Their reforested garden is great for walks/birding throughout the day and the patio invites one to sit down and recharge while gazing into the forest.
I would also highly recommend booking one of the many guided tours that they offer, we took part in the Cerro Hoya day trip and the boat trip in the Gulf of Montijo, both of which were marvellous and worth every penny.
Honestly cannot recommend them enough and will definitely come visit again if I ever find myself back in Panama!

A beautiful lodge, thoughtfully built and smoothly run. Very clean and comfortable, and good food and company. The property is beautiful and we enjoyed watching hummingbirds on the veranda. The owners, Kees and Loes, are so knowledgeable about the area. We saw tiny sea turtles being released at sunset, and had an amazing day with Kees hiking and birdwatching in Cerro Hoya. The newly-repaved road makes it easy to get to. We would come back in a heartbeat.

The Heliconia Inn was one of the best stays that I had in Panama. It was a very cool, clean and comfortable stay at they’re Bed & Breakfast. The hosts are incredible hosts. Very knowledgeable, helpful and very welcoming. The food they made for us each day was delicious and thoughtful. The adventures that they took us on were fun, safe and educational. We’ll definitely be staying there again someday soon.

A superb place with clean rooms, A/C, hot water and kind hosts. They have reforested their property so it's like being close to a jungle. Tours can be arranged around the area and they provide a great deal of information and suggestions of things to do and places to visit. Internet is available and they're getting a fiber optic connection soon so it will be even better.
Would stay again without hesistation.

We took a snorkeling boat trip to Isla Coiba and is was amazing! One of our highlights in Panama! Kees & Loes are very friendly and have a lot of knowledge on the area. Food was tastefull! Thank you!

I had my best time in Panama with Loes and Kees. It was so interesting to listen to Loes and with Kees I also had an amazing trip to coiba island with a lot of turtels and small sharks.

Hotel Heliconia owners share their little piece of paradise with guests. We found the Hotel to be clean, quiet and charming. Loes and Case made us home cooked meals and we all sat down together and shared our daily experiences together. They invite you into their lives. We enjoyed a trip to Coiba with Kees who is an encyclopedia of information on the area. We learned about the plants, the birds, the fish and some history of Coiba. Snorkeling and hiking everyday and enjoying an amazing view of the ocean during dinner. I recommend their hotel and their tours to anyone who wants an active adventure. Not so much for the sit on the beach with a drink and a book vacationer. For our tastes, it was the perfect vacation.

Kees and Loes were great. They made us feel comfortable in the hotel and the group dinner before our adventure to Coiba was tasty and a great way to begin a trip with strangers. The grounds of the hotel have walkable trails with beautiful flora and fauna. Coiba was amazing and quite literally, we couldn't have done it without Loes and Kees. If you want an amazing adventure with knowledgable guides, look them up!

When it was still a cattle pasture and since then they've done an amazing job at reforesting it with local tree species! Enjoy some jungle experience right behind your room or visit the nearby beaches to swim or watch sea turtles laying eggs. They also offer snorkeling or hiking trips to surrounding places. Great place with great people.

This was the most amazing adventure. Stay longer than you think you want to. Have ALL the meals. We will be back!
Best snorkelling on earth. Best hosts. We stayed an extra day just to explore the black beaches of the coast and enjoy more food.

Wonderful hotel in a by the owners beautifully reforested oasis in Mariato. Extremely knowledgeable hosts and guides who can organise trips to the treasures of Veraguas province. Turtle projects in Malèna and Mata Oscura, Parque National Cerro Hoya and Parque National Isla de Coiba.
Highly recommended!

Be hard pressed to find anyone as knowledgeable about nature in Panama. Dutch couple Loes and Kees are both biologists and can confidently explain on any topic from birds to fishes of Coiba. The hotel is cosy and friendly - highly recommended.

Great people, excellent service and lovely location. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived. Sign up for dinner, food was very tasteful.

Es ist schon sehr lange her (2018) aber ich möchte trotzdem noch eine kurze Bewertung für Euch schreiben, da ich gerade an unseren 6-wöchigen Urlaub mit unseren damals noch sehr jungen Kinder (7 Monate/ 2 Jahre) denken musste.
Die Unterkunft war wirklich toll und der familiäre Umgang (wir waren damals die einizgen Gäste) sehr angenehm. Wir wurden super beraten, was man mit kleinen Kindern in der Region machen kann und buddelten mit unseren Kindern nicht nur Schildkrötenbabys aus sondern unternahmen auch noch eine schöne Tour durch den Mangrovenwald mit Kees.
