Museum of Old Panama

Amazing place with great information about the history of one of the oldest towns in America

Visitors pay 10USD for this self guided tour which was enlightening. The shuttles from the visitor center takes you to the ruins and the museum. The museum is excellent and if expect to spend some time browsing and reading everything. The site itself is magestic and I would definitely recommend going.
The areas outside the centre is not very safe and we met with some kind policemen who picked us up and drove us to the centre.

Amazing experience if you are visiting Panama for a first time. Panama Viejo and the Museum is sacred and my time here was well spent.

Amazing place to learn the amazing history of Old Panama. English and spanish translation throughout the entire visit and all the ruins are there to be able to walk around and get a feel for what the place looked like so long ago.

So pretty...the ruins are amazing...ADA wheelchair accessible in the museum...a food truck plus cute shop on site. Very clean bathrooms.

The sea front was awesome.
If you are planning for Museo De Panama Viejo, so you must follow the timings as after 1530 they will stop entry.

great history for the family

We passed it, or the ruins , from the public bus from down town. Nice trip. An armed policeman helped us cross the road as we are old and enfeebled. You would not get that service in England. Indeed you won’t find a policeman. Here in Panamá -everywhere.

If you enjoy museums &/or history & you're not a local pay the $15. It's worth it. Bilingual signage, a newly created museum, your $$ is invested in saving the historical sites through research & repair.
I spent 4 hours there and was more impressed than expected.

Very cool little museum and ruins with alot of history, great for kids and beautiful grounds. Very safe and easy to get to with a taxi. 1.5hours was just enough, $10 for adult, $3 kids, little kids free

Interesting to understand the history of Panama

This was my very first time at this museum. It is interés to read and learn about the old Panama city, how it happened when it got founded and what happened to it. Ot is great that this museum keeps aome artifacts that were used back then and that are properly preserved for visitors to appreciate and see how our history as Panamanians started.
