Parque Nacional Chagres

I went on a guided tour to the waterfall and the Embera Indigenous Village. The whole day was amazing! I definitely recommend spending time in this area if you are visiting.

Amazing place, magnificent rainforrest, the Mountains are majestic, and The Chagres River is full of life and adventures!!!!

Came her as part of a tour to see the Embera tribe. Water was super low as it's the end of summer. Still had a nice canoe ride followed by an easy hike to a refreshing waterfall.

This protected area has forests that support some of the river basins that provide water to Panama City and Panama Canal operations. Through its land passes the Camino Real from the colonial era that went from Panama City to Nombre de Dios and then Portobelo.

Absolutely fabulous. The people are so welcoming and the food just delicious. Bring water shoes!

The park can be visited through a tour involving the Embera indigenous folk who reside in the park territory, along the Chagres River. Absolutely worth a visit - tropical forest not far at all north of the Panama City metropolis.

Had a wonderful time hiking this park and meeting some of the Embera people.

Beautiful seen and not a deep spot to take a swim.

The access road is full of potholes, but once you get to the emberá village it is like going back in time 500 years. These are authentic living Indians. It seems they have not changed from the conquistador times. Very kind, generous, humble, happy people. We loved our visit. This was our highlight in Panamá.

I find this place almost as beautiful as the Bwindi impenetrable forests of Kanungu district in Uganda...... Someone should I aught to take U around when U visit Kampala
