Phulchoki Mata Temple

Phulchowki (2782m) is the highest hill situated in the south of Kathmandu valley. Phulchowki hill is one of the most beautiful hiking place in Kathmandu.

Amazing experience. Adventures ride, stunning views of surrounding hills, peaceful adventure, beautifully crafted statues . This temple is at the top of hill but sadly you can't enjoy view from top as you can go temple only, other side is army camp.

If you want to play with snow near Kathmandu Valley then it's Pulchowki. If you want to visit Pulchowki temple then you have to face a little bit of difficulty while travelling by road. The road is very mismanaged. Mostly difficult for bike riders coz they may have slipped. Be careful while visiting to Pulchowki temple. Although the place was quiet and peaceful ☺. Be careful with goats, they may attact you.

After breakfast at the Hotel, drive 14 kilometer south of Kathmandu for about 45 minutes to a place called Godavari ( Royal Botanical Garden ) with packed lunch box. From Godavari we start our hiking gradually uphill all the way through sub - Tropical thick forest for about four hours. The magnificent view from eastern part of Annapurna range to Gaurishanker in the east can be seen from here on a clear day apart from the Breathtaking view of Kathmandu valley. After lunch and strolling around from sometime, we hike down following the same trail to Godavari for about 2 hours and drive back to Kathmandu.Phulchowki hill is surrounded by the dense forest of different plants including Rhododendron of different colors, including pure white and dark red. Because of this beautiful and dense forest different species of birds and butterflies can be found. During your hike you can see different kinds of birds such as Rufous-gorgeted, Flycatcher, Rufous-bellied Niltava, Yellow-browed Tit, Chestnut-headed Tesia, Red-billed Leiothrix, Whiskered Yuhina, Besra, Bronzed and Racket-tailed Drongos, Greater Yellow nape, Grey-headed Woodpecker, Nepal Cutia, Ultramarine Flycatcher, and Black-winged Cuckoo shrike.
At the top of the hill there is a shrine of Phulchowki Mai which is surrounded by prayer flags and tridents. If you happen to hike on this route in the month of March / April you might have a chance to watch the month long annual religious festival held at the shrine to Phulchoki, and some other major festivals on the full moon days in the month of July and August every year.
Moreover you will get the eye-catching view from eastern part of Annapurna range to Gaurishanker in the east on a clear day. Further breathtaking view of Kathmandu valley is another glorious part of this visit.
It is also the only place in the vicinity of Kathmandu to experience snowfall in winter.

Situated at the highest among other hills in valley. We really enjoyed our cycle ride along the trees full of laligurans,muddy slippery road, beautiful weather and scenery. felt alive.

It was really so cool when you will plan to go for hiking. It was 13 km from Godawari to reach phulchowki temple. There were some shortcut root also to reach there at a short time.

A bit of a challenge to get up to the top but really beautiful once you're there. Biking down is really fun as well! Get with a local biking guide so they can show you the good routes.

Phulchowki is the highest hill situated in the south of Kathmandu valley. It is 2700 meter from sea level. Phulchowki is famous for the beautiful scenario that can be seen from top also you can see all the mountain ranges.

We began our hike from Godawari, taking a shortcut via the Hiti (a temple with dhunge dharas). I don't recommend using shortcuts unless you have proper navigation plans or accurate mapping guidelines. The jungle is dense and vast, with multiple cases of people getting lost. So, my friends and I chose an alternative route. I was anxious about this path from the start. After a continuous 4 to 5-hour walk, we reached the top, where an army camp is located, so expect to see a few soldiers around. The view from the top is magnificent and surreal, offering a 360-degree panorama of peaks. The descent took us a maximum of 2 hours.

The route is steep and the temperature quite cold. It's advisable to wear good jackets and thermals. Proper boots are essential, and be prepared for some icy roads.

Amazing hike from Lele to Phulchwoki

12 and half kilometer ride from godawari, through the most incredible scenery and flora and fauna, got us to the top of Phulchowki hill; felt such a surge of energy and subtle power there while paying obeisance at the shrine of phulchowki Mata; finally downhill ride wasn't as much enjoyable because of treacherous roads, and waning physical agility and exhaustion. Yesterday on the first day of 2080BS, stuck in traffic at several places along the way on both uphill and downhill journey, and people were seen in their hordes at the hill top offering obeisance to the phulchowki Mata while many were struggling for tiktok vdos and maybe selfies, And few were seen to be a lot more chill, relaxed and enjoying the moment bit by bit.

A great route for hiking and a superb view from the top. It is dangerous to go on a bike though

It's the highest point in Kathmandu valley. from Godwari bus park it's totally off road to this place. If you are a adventure seeker you enjoy a bike ride to this place. This place is also suitable for a one day hike. Flora near top of this hill are different than that on valley below. There is dense forest here. If you are going to this place I suggest you to be ware of animals. Though it is rare to encounter a animal in this jungle but as they say prevention is better than care

Located at the top of hill, it provides very beautiful view of high standing mountains in the north with Kathmandu Valley in its lap where as a series of green hills on the other side of it.

You can either take your own vehicle or hike the hill. I suggest you to hike up the hill.
