You can go for a short hike here. It will take you around 30 to 45 mins to reach the temple from Sankhu. You cam enjoy the forest on the way along with its stone taps "dhunge dharas" which are very old and have religious significance to the local people. This temple is being renovated and can be a great destination for people who like to get away from the polluted air of the capital.

A sacred place for both Buddhist & Newars. A temple where no animal sacrifice can be seen for a change. The only temple where the priest does not touch the devotees to put tika or accept dakshina. Though little dilapidated by the 2015 earthquake, a must visit place for tantric followers to see the beautiful carvings & stone stupas.

One of the beautiful temple of Kathmandu.. The temple is so peaceful and holy.. You can reach the temple through hiking 30 minutes from sankhu or can also reach through vehicle.. But i suggest hiking for those who doesn't mind 30 min a bit uphill climb.. The hike way to the temple is way beautiful to take vehicle..

It's just 45 minutes to an hour uphill stairs walk from Sankhu bus stop. You can also go by your own private vehicles... Roads are easy. The view from the temple is very attractive. You can find monkeys on the way and friendly dogs who infact really go with you upto the top of temle and go down till you reach Sankhu bajar.

Beautiful temple away from city centre. It is worshipped by both hindus and buddhists. The temples are built in pagoda pattern. So peaceful.

A superb temple complex that is accessed by a very long stone stairway. Once you get up you are blown away by the very old and rich Newari architecture and metal and wood carvings. This place breathes history, tradition and religion. It has been damaged by the 2015 earthquake so not everything is in fully restored yet but most of the temple and surrounding building are still OK. It is a steep uphill walk from Sankhu (but it typically takes only 15 minutes for a fit person) and a nice start of further hikes in the surroundings giving you sweeping views of the Kathmandu Valley.
