Kyanjin Ri Lower Peak

One of the life time experience. Wonderful view of the picturesque mountains from all side.
Tip: Try to climb up early in the morning to avoid winds and chills and experience the sunrise.

It is not a difficult hike to the top. The winds can get a little uncomfortable, but with proper clothes and UV protective cream it is fine.
If you have made the trek to Kyanjin Gompa, you might as well hike up Kyanjin Ri - it only takes about two to three hours. From its crown, the panorama views of the Langtang valley and surrounding snow-capped Himalayas are definitely worth it.
Take time to appreciate the views and the peacefulness before descending.

If this is your first trek in Nepal then I would advise acclimatising properly before so as the climb is very steep and I suffered from reverse altitude sickness doing the higher peak in under 4 hours. Views are phenomenal at the top and well worth the climb, you can see the glacier, 360 of the surrounding range and views down the valley. Definitely a good day's hike and Nepalese mountain experience!

It was an amazing experience trekking Langtang National Park climbing over Kyanjin Ri lower peak. The view I got to see as climbing over the peak was breath taking. It was little disappointing that as I reached to the peak, the clouds covered the Langtang mountain peak and other peaks. The 360 view from the peak was amazing. The view from this place to was really awesome.. you can view kengin gompa village from this place .. never miss a sun rise and sunset from this place. You can also enjoy best view of mountains. The path is a bit difficult but when you climb up the view is really worth the difficulty

Kyanjin Ri (4773m / 15655 ft), like Kala Patthar on the Everest Base Camp Trek, is the highest point most trekkers reach on the Langtang Trek. Kyanjin Ri is a small hill by Himalayan standards that sits just to the north east of Kyanjin Gumba (3830m). Its well worth the 3 to 5 hours it will take to get to the summit to see the fantastic views of the upper Langtang Valley and surrounding peaks and glaciers. Here is a quick summary of how to reach the top and what you will see.

Most trekkers ascending Kyanjin Ri will make the almost 1000m / 3200ft climb up from the small village of Kyanjin Gumba. It’s best to get an early start before the clouds start to build up in the afternoon and while the ground is still frozen. I started out for the summit around 7am but it might have been a bit easier to go at 5:30 or 6am since the sun was already starting to melt the frozen earth making the relatively steep trail somewhat slippery.

When Kyanjin Ri first comes into view on the way up to Kyanjin Gumba a number of small trails switch-backing up can be seen and it’s easy to assume the small point topped by prayer flags just behind Kyanjin Gumba is the top. In fact, this small point is about two-thirds of the way up and the actual summit is not visible from Kyanjin Gumba. I noticed lots of trekkers turning around at this point but if you have made it this far its worth going all the way up as the view from the top is much more inclusive.

Coming back down you might want to take a different route by following the canyon down on the north side of the peak. When I did this it was covered in snow and it was possible to glissade almost all the way done before cutting back over to Kyanjin Gumba.

Beautiful view from here of the Kyanjing Village and easy trekking path to it, it is worth of there are no clouds. She is the guardian of the village.

3 days from ktm to reach kyanjing .1st day bus ride to syaprubesi & 2nd day hiking from syaprubesi to riverside & 3rd day riverside to kyanjin . 2 hrs hike from kyanjin to kyanjin ri peak. (Climb peak at morning) 4 am (4400m)

It was cloudy the day we went there so we did not get to view the mountains from Ri. But the view of Dudhkunda lake was mesmerising. I would advise to take the trek slow as the altitude could get high for first time trekkers. Also it would be best to leave your bags at Kyanjin Gompa and just carry some snacks and other essentials.

4,600 m. Just in front of the Himalayas. You just will keep saying woww woww..

View from kyanji ri low peak was spectacular.

4400m. We started after lunch and came back down around 5pm. Don't plan to go too late because it is getting cloudy so quickly in the evening and it'll be hard to climb down.

Kyanjin Ri is a beautiful peak with spectacular views over the Langtang region. Best to begin before daybreak and enjoy the sunrise as you ascend. Take care on the ridge as the wind can pick up.

Amazing 360° view of mountains...
If you can you must go there at least once.

Had a magical moment here. Definitely a must visit place if you've made it to kyanjin ri. Go for tsergo ri if you're more adventurous but it no piece of cake to get to it.
