Arjundhara Jaleshwor Dham

Arjundhara is the name of a temple that is situated in south-eastern part of Nepal. It is situated in Jhapa district, Province No. 1 in Nepal. It is 45 minutes on flight from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur and 30 minutes car ride from Bhadrapur to Arjundhara. It is 6 km north from the business centre Birtamode, Previously it used to be in Arjundhara VDC ward no. 04. and now it lies in Arjundhara Municipality.[1][2] As Nepal is recently divided into provinces this place lies in the Province no.01.

It is the best religious places of not only Jhapa but also the whole nepal as well as world too.It has got its uniqueness.It is also called as the pashupatinath of eastern area.Many people from Nepal as well as India also comes to visit this place.It is belives that in ancestoral period lord Arjun bow his arrows down in order to quench thw thirst of ox so this place is named as ARJUNDHARA.There is gurukul also where one can learn Sanskrit.As well a huge meala(fair) is organized in this place during BALACHATURDASHI where there will be more than 15k devotees who comes to worship and to observe the fair.As well this temple has an old architecture too.It is belived that at past the fish got nosepins in them.Overall like pashupatinath it is also one of the greatest religious sites of Nepal.

Also known as the Pashupati of Eastern Nepal (पूर्वको पशुपति) Arjundhara Jaleshwor Dham is a shrine dedicated to Bhagwan Shiva. The temple is located at Arjundhara Municipality in Jhala, named after the temple. A Shivalinga (symbol of Bhagwan Shiva) is worshipped inside the Garbha Griha.

Arjundhara Jaleshwar Dham, Jhapa, Nepal 🇳🇵 is also called as the "Pashupatinath of Eastern Nepal".
The temple lies by a pond, which is believed to be brought into existence by Arjun in the Mahabharata Period (about 3100 B.C.)*. The story says that when the Pandavs were returning with their lost cows during their last years in the forest, the cows felt thirsty. Arjun immediately pulled out his arrow and hit it to the ground from where water bursted out and the cows quenched their thirst.
The pond water is considered sacred, and devotees present the water from the pond to Lord Shiva residing in the temple :)
