Beautiful trek with spectacular views. The locals were very friendly and the food just delicious. Coming down Ulleri was a little hectic and Lete was freezing. Gear up well when going doing the winter season! The trek during the day is pleasant!

One of the best treks in Nepal with stunning Mountain Views. There are many tea houses along the way with many menu options.

It is a must to go trek in Nepal. We can go there every season but feb-march-april-may and sept-october- nov are the best months. But please check the weather before you go.

Final destination of the ABC trek… We were there this mid-August and most of the time, it’s foggy. We stayed at the base camp for 2 nights to see the sunrise, and we were just stunned by the Annapurna mountains as we were lucky that the weather was good during the dawn. Food was ok. People come and go within a day and all you have to do is to enjoy the unbelievable view and nature!

Did this trek during December 2023, it was very nice experience, you don't need camping equipment as teahouses type guest house are available throughout the trek with every necessary facilities, you meet amazing people during the trek especially local Nepali people. At that time guide and portar are not compulsory, you just need trekking permit (acap) which cost 1000 NPR for sarcs and 3000 NPR for national which you can get in pokhara acap office or in Kathmandu.

Incredible, had a great trekking experience. The panoramic view at the base Camp takes away all your pain that you suffer while climbing up. I really enjoyed the breathtaking Himalaya range. Feels like heaven, mesmerizing, no words to describe what I felt at ABC. Mt. Annapurna, Annapurna III, Annapurna I, Mt. Himchuli, Mt Machhapuchhre, and a lot. We celebrated the moment. We just got lucky to enliven Annapurna mata despite heavy snowfall on previous days.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek is one of the most rewarding and unforgettable experiences I have ever had. The trek takes you through diverse landscapes, from lush green valleys and forests to barren and rocky terrain. The views of the snow-capped peaks of the Annapurna range are simply breathtaking, especially at sunrise and sunset. The highlight of the trek is reaching the Annapurna Base Camp, which is surrounded by a ring of towering mountains, creating a natural amphitheater of beauty and awe.

The trail is well-marked and maintained, and there are plenty of teahouses along the way where you can rest, eat, and sleep. The local people are very friendly and hospitable, and they will make you feel welcome and comfortable. The food is delicious and varied, and you can enjoy some local delicacies such as dal bhat, momos,...

Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness the beauty and majesty of the Himalayas.

Majestic Annapurna Sanctuary....
This is a high glacial basin lying 40 km directly north of Pokhra. This oval-shaped plateau sits at an altitude of over 4000 metres, and is surrounded by a ring of mountains, the range, most of which are over 7000 metres. With the only entrance being a narrow valley between the peaks of Hiunchuli and Machapucha, where run-off from glaciers drains into the Modi Khola River.
The Annapurna base camp trek is one of the most popular treks in the world. It literally brings you face to face with an eight-thousander – for a moderate-difficult trek, this is incredible! The fascinating Annapurna massif includes the world’s tenth highest peak. Annapurna I (8,091 m) holds an almost fatal attraction for mountaineers. It has the highest fatality ratio among the eight-thousanders. This formidable aura apart, the ABC trek holds several treasures for the mountain lover.

This is where the mountaineering expeditions for Annapurna Himalayan mountains start from.
However, it's very popular in the Trekkers circuit as well. At 4130 feet above sea level, it is about a 1k feet below Everest Base Camp.
But when I visited ABC on 10th April, it had more snow and was freezing than EBC in Oct. There are many homestays on the way, all sweet, small n cozy. No need to prebook if going by self.
The route from Gandruk to ABC camp has a lot of steps to climb & descend. It's a moderate to difficult trek. You will meet many smiling foreigners on the way greeting Namaste.
Nayapul - Gandruk (lunch) - Kimrong Danda (night) - Chomrong (lunch) - Sinuwa (night) - Bamboo (lunch)- Himalaya (night)- Duvan (lunch, night) - MBC (brunch) - ABC(night).
The route has Red rhododendron trees lined up.
The entire trek was beautiful, the stays were adequate and the food at the halts was really tempting. It's not a very expensive trek.
We were told by the Tourist office whole booking our trek permits that taking a guide has now become mandatory from 1st April, however am not sure of the applicability of the rule.
Indian currency is mostly accepted on the route, however I strongly recommend carrying Nepal currency. Per day costs would be approximately Nepali rupees 500 for stay and 500 for every meal, per person. So more camps you break at your costs would rise accordingly.
There is a provision for Helicopter evacuation at last camps ABC and MBC run by Chopper services Prabhu and Dynasty. You can reach Pokhara airport in flat 15 minutes from ABC on return, like I did.

A 7-10 day trek into the heart of the Annapurna sanctuary. Fantastic views are on offer for a reasonable amount of effort compared to other treks. If you are concerned about your fitness build in more time. Soon, all Nepal mountain trekkers will need a guide. Finding a good one is worthwhile as it can really enrich your experience. This is a tea house trek so technically you can travel light and maybe do this without a sleeping bag but it does get cold even with extra blankets. You should though, be prepared for unexpected mountain weather, which means trekking clothes, sturdy boots and micro spikes unless you want to risk injury.

So beautiful. You're literally surrounded by Mountains on all sides, you'll find yourself nestled in a 360° panorama of beautiful mountains including the 10th tallest mountain of the world, the Annapurna. The guest houses will have WiFi, hot-water for shower, and heater in the dining hall under normal conditions. The electricity might be limited though because seems like these places run primarily on solar power.
