Tamkey Dada(hill), a famous Hill Station in Eastern Nepal.
Tamkey is one of the most famous hills on the eastern hillside of Nepal. It is around 250 km to the east of Kathmandu(the Capital city of Nepal). Its height is around 3000meter from the sea level. It is one of the tallest hills of the Mahabharat Parbat range of Nepal. Geography, weather, cool temperature, and holy place for the people living around it add to its value.
Tamkey divides khotang and Bhojpur district, which belongs to one province of Nepal. Tamkey is surrounded by the greenery of beautiful flowers. The Laligurans( rhododendron, national flower of Nepal,), Chimal, Loths Sallha, Alpine Pine trees, Rhimchebung(the most described flower in Kirat's holy mundhum and myths), and thousands of medicinal plants surround this place. The air at the top is so fresh that it can refresh your mood, making people forget all the pain in their life. From the top of the Tamkey we can see the Himalayan range including Mount Everest to the north and tall himals. When the sunlight from the south hits the snow on the Himalayas, the beauties of mother nature can be seen there, the scenery can't be described in words. During the sunrise, before the fog rises, we can see the river Ganga, Kolkata city of India. The sunrise and sunset are the other scenes you should never miss, and these are the scenes 99% of people miss most of the time because of the cold temperature and lack of shelter nearby. But now people have started a homestay business there, which can add to the popularity of Tamkeys.
Mhaparung, Sylame, Mundhum Trail, Myung, and Chakhewa, are the other beautiful places around it. They have their importance.
Besides its beauty, it is rich in natural resources. We can find several iron extraction mines that were used to extract iron During the Rana Regime Period in the history of Nepal. We can find evidence of Iron mines that existed in the past.
Tamkey is not only a hill for the people living around it, but it represents their civilization. People have a strong belief in the holiness of these places. There is a temple at the top of the hill called siddhakali. The reality is that there is another real temple which is situated on a vertical slope. People can hardly get rich there, by analyzing the safety hazard, people made a temple on the hill. This place is a shared holy place where Kirat people living aro undthis place celebrate there on the

occasion of their festival called Sakela Ubhauli/Udhauli while other people celebrate on their festivals like buddha Jayanti/ Chandi Purnima, Shivaratri, Ram Navami. Thousands of generations have passed around this place so people's cultural and religious values are connected to it. This place resembles the history and civilization that happened in eastern hill Nepal.
Tamkey is almost equidistant from the District headquarters of Bhojpur and Bhojpur Bazar and Diktel, the district headquarter of Khotang. Madhya Pahadi Lokmarga(highway) passes close to this place. Construction of these highways has connected this beautiful palace to the other places of Nepal and the world. Now several roads connect this Place to terai Districts. Udayapur, Sunsari, Siraha, and Saptari, are the neighboring districts of Khotang and Bhojpurto in the south. Okhaldhunga, Dhankuta, Solukhumbu, and Sankhuwasabha are the other districts closer to it.
Ratanchha, Bale chyandada, dadagaun, nirmali dada lekharka, khidima, mattim, kot, khawa, naghi are the villages around it. Tawa khola, makhuw khola, safsu khola, khoppu khola, pikhuwa khola, seti khola are the river streams around this place. Sapsudhap, Bharnaghi, Mhaparium, Salpa Pokhari, Halesi Mahadev, Tuwachung Dada, and Majhuwa Gadi Devithan, are the religious places closer to it.

It is one the most beautiful palce in Eastern nepal .from where we can see six different mountain above 6000 meter and different part of the eastern nepal .we can enjoy with nature as well. One the best place for hicking also name as mundhum trail .
