No matter what, I just love banking with Standard Chartered Bank. The most awesome facility about this bank is; its ATM card never gets denied in India. So its only the trustworthy bank. It has few flaws as well. The interest rates are very very low but its reliable though. So not good for fixed deposit. Otherwise one of the best bank of Nepal.

I don't get why this bank won't let us use Rs. 5,000 of our money. If I have Rs. 25,000 in my account, I can only take out or spend Rs. 20,000. It's strange why the bank keeps Rs. 5,000 frozen.

Polite staff who do not mind getting asked many questions. Some even smile ( which is really rare in a bank outside of Kathmandu). Quality service :)

Pretty friendly staff. They even got photo copy facility for coustmers. Absolutely like their name sound STANDARD they maintain it.

I went there to cash a cheque yesterday and the teller told me that I could only get five lakh per day. If I needed more than that I should inform them beforehand which is ridiculous. I also expected a prompt service but a minute passed into half hour before I could cash it. Ugh

About Dharan
City in Nepal

Dharan is a sub-metropolitan city in Sunsari District of Koshi Province, in eastern Nepal, which was established as a fourth municipality in the Kingdom in 1958. It is the third most populous city in eastern Nepal after Biratnagar and Itahari. The Nepali word "dharan" means a saw pit. The rainforest from which the tree trunks came is still just on the edge of the city. Much later the British Gurkha camp opened in October 1960. The use of the camp by British Gurkhas finished in the mid-1990s. source
