First privileged place on earth accordingly to hindu mythology. Must come and pour your devotion to Lord baraha. The place is very peaceful and don't forget to take bath in koshi river when you come here.

Barahakshetra, also known as Barahachhetra, is a significant Hindu and Kirat pilgrimage site in Nepal. Located at the meeting point of the Koka and Koshi rivers in Sunsari district, it's one of the country's oldest shrines, even mentioned in ancient texts like the Puranas and Mahabharata. Here, devotees worship Lord Vishnu in his Varaha avatar, the boar who rescued the Earth from being dragged down by a demon. The site holds special importance as one of Nepal's four holy Dhams (abodes).

We can reach there by the left side road of chatara bridge. Road conditions are not so well .those who goes in public vehicle are need to book tampo from the chatara bridge the average cost is 500 rupees. The distance between chatara bridge and barahakshetra temple is just 7 km . Very famous place for worship. And also in these day 12 year occasion celebrating.so that the density of people is quite high.

Last week we had been there. There was a blockage in between the road due to the land slide caused by heavy rain. We kept our vehicle at Saptakoshi bridge and hired a three wheeler (tempo) up to the land slide area, waited few minutes as a dozer was clearing the road, walked to the other side and again took another tempo to reach the temple area.

Temple area was quiet, less people. We prayed, received Dashain Tika at the temple, spend some time and get back to the parking area where we parked our vehicle.

Barahchhetra is a beautiful area which has historical, religious and social importance.

It's Hindus holy place. After worship you can enjoy Natural scenes. Natural scene is very beautiful. You can forget your all tensions. Boating is available. You can enjoy fishing; bathing; but be careful of currents. Don't go in middle of river. Good place for short trekking as well.
The roads are rocky; I suggest you to use 4 wheel drive vehicles only. Public transport is available from Dharan city.

This temple is the temple of Lord Varaha. Varaha is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. This is a very beautiful place. I went here for the first time and I felt very relaxed.
This temple is situated on a mountain and after Chatra the entire hill road is very bad, Nepal government should focus on making the road.

This is one of the best temple to visit in the month of Karthik @time of purnima...!! Please don't try to visit there in monsoon season as the road is very dangerous, and you might have to face landslides. So prepare accordingly

The holiest site for Hindu, one of the Char Dham of Nepal, located at the confluence of Koshi & Koka river in north part of Sunsari district is dedicated to the Varaha Avatar of lord Vishnu. I drove from Chatara to a small city at Varaha Kshetra, road was not bad, walked through Bazaar to the temple located at the bank of Koshi river. Temple did not look majestic as I expected but it was the center of respect of Hindu. There were other smaller temples including Goddess Laxmi. Few steps down was the bank of Koshi. Water was cool & clear. A lot of people were busy doing the holy dip, worshiping & o0ffering puja. I loved the peaceful & beautiful location of the famous religious site that everybody should visit.

The initial Dham of Nepal. Very sacred place. You can see the muddy Koshi river in the monsoon is big enough. The road from Chatara, Dharan to Barahakshetra dham was frightening due to several landslides along it. We were scared but excited to go. It was raining and we could see fresh landslide. While reaching the sacred place we realized the positive vibes which was amazing. Went to the bank of Koshi river and got bath. Felt blessed and returned. I highly recommend to visit once and experience the holy vibes.

Religiously important location right at the bank of Koshi River. Could be cleaner and better managed.

Tranquility place in bank of Koshi river, right below lush green hills, regarded as one of sacred places for Hindus. 1st avatar of Lord Bishnu is "Baraha". It is situated nearly Dharan.

Barha Chettra Temple or Barhakune Daha in Dang . There is a pond that has twelve corners that's why it named Barhakune Daha. The Temple of God Bishnu, Barah is also an important place for pilgrims in that area, and several temples of Ganesh and Shiva are there.❤

This place has its own religious importance for the followers of Hinduism. And it's good for it's natural beauty. The place where koka river meets koshi. Can get the view of 4 districts from the river bank. But the only thing I disliked is unawareness among people, they have made the river bank as dumping area which was weird. Hope it gets cleaned
