Famous historical temple near Butwal city surrounded by beautiful mountains. The mesmerising views around the temple will make you stay in this place more than you have expected. It is just near the bank of the Tinau river. It is not us usually crowded but during festivals you must expect heavy crowds.

It is a historical famous place known as the temple of hindu god Shiva. It lies on the bank of Tinau river Siddhartha Highway on the route to Tansen, Palpa from Butwal. It is around 3 KM from Butwal city. There are two temples on the way in the distance of 1 kilometer. This is the main and first temple for Siddhababa in Palpa District. Later people of Rupandehi district constructed a second temple. so, there are two separate temples in the area.
Most People visit the temple on Saturday and Monday. And it is crowded mostly during the festival of God Shiva as Shivaratri.
As it is on the side of the highway, many vehicles pass the way. The temple does not have enough area for the pilgrims. so the people have to be in line on the road. People cross the road frequently, so it's a highly accident prone area. On crowded days people and the drivers have to be careful of accidents.
The temple is on the mountains so there are stairs to reach the main temple. old aged elderly people may have difficulties climbing the stairs. Though it has a very wonderful view from the top.
There is a story behind this temple. According to a saint there, it is believed that before 2078 years (Bikram sambat) King Bhartrihari, the elder brother of king Bikramaditya of Ujjain kingdom received a fruit from a sage to eat for his good health and adultness forever. The king thought that it would be good to give the fruit to his queen so that she would be always young and might take good care of him in his old age. The queen was in relation with a minister and she gave it to him for his strength to fulfill her sexual desire forever. The minister gave it to his beloved one whom he was in relation with. The lady again gave it to a cowboy whom she was in relation with. The cowboy thought for the people of the kingdom and decided to give it to the king so that the king would always be strong to help his people. The king was shocked to know it and all the people connected. He later realized that no one was for anyone in this world. He went to the saint Gorakhnath and pledged that he wanted to leave the kingship and become a saint. The sage asked him to go to the mountains and find a cave for meditation and worship god Shiva. The king then visited the mountains of Nepal and found a cave for meditation. He started his meditation and worship of God Shiva. At the end he was brightened by the knowledge and eternal power. Later, he was famous and known as SHIDDHA BABA. Lord Shiva opened a water stream from the cave which falls down the river and it can be seen on the way. After that people started worshiping Shiddha baba and he became famous in Hindu religion.

A religious place to visit near butwal. Also have a lot of religious belief among the people( that the everytime landslide occurs is due to the rage of Lord siddhababa) I am not talking about all the landslides but the ones that occur near the temples and as per the information landslides do frequently occur there and the people believe it as a rage of the Lord
