Khopra Co-operative Lodge

Stayed here during my trek to Khopra Ridge with Indiahikes .. the location of this place is just out of this world. On clear sky days you get the best view of Mt. Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range. The service and staff of this place are very helpful and make sure you are comfortable. The only negative for us was that we were put up in new rooms and the bathroom wasn't ready yet. Otherwise I had no complaints...

The best place ever to be in the evening. The sunset is breathtaking. To be honest the best sunset I have seen so far. This is the only place that you can stay, no other hotels. So, the place is busy and gonna have to wait a while for food. If you need hot water they will provide a hot water bucket. The climb is devastating though. So, don’t be late to reach their otherwise you will miss the sunset. Their is tea shop along the way if you are starting from Pauduwar.

The sunrise from here is a must... It may be very cold even in late march early April, bring always warm clothes (1 April 2022, -5 at 0700 am, +snow)

Khopra Community Lodge is situated at 3600 m above sea level and offers grand view of glorious Himalayas. If you planning to travel on during peak season to Khopra be sure your accommodation is booked in advanced because only one lodge is available with limited room and present-day lot traveler reaching Khopra each day. Khopra is awesome viewpoint specially for Mount Dhaulagiri and several other snow-capped peak.

People who work there are like well oiled machines! It's amazing how they manage everything so well. Food is great, evening fire is warm and gathers people for light chat before the dinner and sleep.
Stone structure of the lodge makes it warm and insulated so you don't feel horrible wind that can happen sometimes. And sunset and sunrise view is amazing.

One thing I would say I missed out on my journey to Khopra Danda and Khayer lake is this view of beautiful mountains in front of me only because I took a different route to the destination.

After three days trek to Khopra danda and spending 1 cold freezing night inside a tent at Khopra community Lodge, we acended to Khayer lake to catch this amazing view of the Majestic mountain. In the remotest region of Nepal, this is not a place for someone looking for an easy trek with most of the regular services unavailable.

I stayed at Khopara in 1977 whilst trekking to Muktinath. Thechnology is helping me re-live those wonderful memories. I remember a big open fire at our lodging. I am now 66 years old.Thank you!!

All is fine. You get simple, but descent food (no meat). The blankets are available if weather is cold, but you definitely need a sleeping bag. But the hygiene facilities could be better. There is no sink with running water. It is possible to buy water if necessary. Toilet is a hole in the ground, but it is located within the building. So, it is not terribly cold. Stuff is friendly and speaks some English.

This is one and only lodge in this area of Khopra. The view is stunning because of its height(3660meters) where the lodge is located. From here you could see from Gorja peak(7193m.) whole Dhauligiri range highest among Dhailagiri is Dhailagiri-1 (8167m.), Tukuche peak (6920m) Mt.Nilgiri(7061m.) Baraha Peak and Annapurna South(7219m). From here you can make a day trip to Khayer lake located @ 4600 meters both way more or less 8-10 hours. There is a temple also in July and august (according to english calander) a festival occurs in this temple. The festival according to hindu religion is Janai purnima.

Beat place, excellent service, great accomodation, perfect host, stunning views. A must for pilgrimage to trekking. We will definitely come back again.

Sitting with a cup of Tea and seeing the mountainsin the evening is just spectacular.

The staff is helpful and the place is just wonderful.

Khopra is at Altitude of 3660 mtr. It takes two day to reach here from Pokhara. 1st day ride from Pokhara to pokhare bagar to swata or you can go from paudar instead of swata. Day two trek to khopra. For longer trek you can trek from Ghorepani also. People with Altitude sickness can expect slight sickness here.

The rooms are very good, food is good though food takes a bit more time after order.

a great point to view beautiful sunrise, sunset and the mountains. People who loved to walk can make a trip to Khopra.

This is in of the perfect trail for trekking. Difficulty level is hard despite being the trail very good to walk lies at difficulty geography. Most of the trail track to Khopra is paved with good stone stairs and straight path. The Khopra lies at 3660 meter high which can be troublemaking for those not acclimatized to that height. ( A particularly found that for very few (only one ), especially guest arriving to this height from sea level area in a very short span of time ).
The Khopra ( community lodge ) can be reached from various route. To my knowledge it can be reached from Paudwar, Tatopani, Tadapani , Ghorepani, Dhabkharka etc in one to two days depending upon the pace of walk.
The lodge is run by community and is very affordable compared to other operated at much lower height.
Lodge is well insulated and is much warmer than other places and provides free WiFi service ( mobile network is not sure to be working, Nepal Telecom NT was found to be working in much wider area than Ncell.

Finally this place is best known for closed up view of mountains especially Annapurna ((9th highest ) not as seen from other area )and that too provides a majestic view. Other mountains seen with glorified view are Dhaulagiri(7th highest) , Mt Nilgiri ( north and south), Mt Himchuli, Mt Ganga Purna and many more not to my knowledge.
Beside these it provides as rest station for more high and adventurous journey to Khayer Khola ( 4330 m) and Khayer Lake( 4500m) .

Awesome Place where you can enjoy the panaromic view of Himalaya Annapurna south, Barashikhar, Nilgiri, Tukuche , Dhaulagiri.

It is wonderful place to visit. Everyone should visit . Grest plce to see sunshine, sunset , mountain range and pokhara valley.

The owners were very hospitable. We spent two days in this lodge. The service was very good and affordable.
