't Bonte Paard

We recently had the pleasure of visiting 't Bonte Paard in Laren, Netherlands, and it truly left a lasting impression. A vibrant character, sporting disco shoes (clearly a regular), graciously extended an invitation to join their private birthday celebration (Benny’s).
Immersing ourselves in the authenticity of a Dutch birthday party was an absolute delight, as everyone embraced us with warmth and hospitality.
The live country and rock music further heightened the evening's enjoyment, infusing the atmosphere with energy and liveliness.

Overall, 't Bonte Paard exceeded all expectations, offering a charming and welcoming ambiance that I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone seeking a memorable experience in Laren or Hilversum.

We came without reservation and place looked fully occupied. However, friendly stuff reassured us that we’ll be seated within ten minutes. That is also what happened. Food and drinks were delicious.

They were very nice to us. My son didn’t know what to choose - cold or hot chocolate. So they brought him both! ☺ super sweet and good very tasty too!

Very beautiful environment, place full of history and nice atmosphere. The food is good, people are friendly and prices are reasonable.

Best is the terrace. Unique views in spring and summer.

Bar (now a bit more restaurant) breathes ancient times.

Easy mingling and contacts.

Also great for a pitstop on a cycling tour as it is close to all kinds of cycling paths.

Worth a visit.

Highly recommended for people watching and -if you like- car watching.
Can be busy especially at Friday/Saturday 6pm-22pm and sunny days.

Sorry for posting this. I am looking for a guy called Cess Willigenberg, who used to frequent this cafe. This guy has cheated many people including me of thousands of Euros. It seems that he lives in Laren and works in the name of company called Arezzo bv. If you give me his whereabout I will offer you a free beer in this cafe. Thank you.

't Bonte Paard is without any doubt the best place in Laren to have a brunch coffee or even a couple of drinks with family or friends. The service is superior to that of other similar establishments in the area and the interior is a must see attraction with rustic character and relics.

Very cosy, affordable food, good and friendly waiting staff. Very nice beer, wine and whisky selection too. We really enjoyed the old fashioned atmosphere inside.
