This is a really nice place in beautiful, green surroundings. Dinner was good, lunch excellent, and the service perfect. Meeting rooms are very nice as well (Internet could be faster in the castle rooms, especially for video conferencing, but would be my only criticism.).

A surprisingly affordable hotel in a grand setting. Surrounded by a small forest park and adjacent to an old manor house.
You can walk into Leiden from here, but it's a bit long. I would use a bike or take a car.
The rooms and breakfast were very good, but I will say I don't like shower stalls that remain open on one side. All showers should be fully enclosed, as that is the only way to keep water inside the stall.

Comfortable room and cozy amenities. Good restaurant. I attended a friend's wedding years ago. This time I stayed myself. The bathroom is very nicely kitted out with high end hardware. Beautiful surroundings.

Clean room. I was glad we could stay here one night. Quiet and beautiful scenery.

Our puppy was accepted for 15 e / night, we also paid the tourist tax. I strongly recommend!

The hotel is in a very nice surrounding, it was nice to take a walk around and learn more about the history. The food was great, we had a 3 course dinner and we’re very satisfied.

Lovely and quiet place to stay. The ground invites for strolls through their garden. We had a small room but it was fine. I only have two remarks: there’s no air conditioning, so on hot days, keeping cool is a challenge and the room doors tend to slam loudly.
Staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious (and we had it on the terrace). Also loved their sustainable drinking water system.

The premises around Oud Poelgeest are very peaceful and pretty. Now with autumn coming the trees have started to get red, orange and yellow. The castle is incredible to look at.

Beautiful venue in a small wood. Great food and wine selection. Staff were nice. Simple overnight rooms but had everything we needed. Visited for a work Christmas party with around 40 guests - was perfect for the event.

Go for lunch as we did, after walking through the beautiful grounds - such a wonderful experience.

Me and my family discovered it by conicidence while we were cycling in the adjacent park. It is very nice for walks and very interesting with a small kid. I would like to bring my parents there when they are visiting. The cafe seems quite nice.

great place. quiet. i loved the room design - simple, clear, no unnecessary expenses. great surrounding = park, sport fields. i rented bike to approach citt center (12min ride)

Very friendly and helpful staff. Very Clean and nice rooms. Good walks if you have a dog with you.

We went to the castle for a wedding. It was gorgeous. Understated, yet regal, it made us feel like we were partying with the landed set...in an unpretentious way of course. I would definitely return for a weekend get away.

I was there for a wedding and I thought the location was perfect. So romantic! Very well kept and incredible style, my favourite spot was the dragon room.

Nice little park with historic buildings next to the bigger Leidse Hout. Also a restaurant with a gezellig outdoor setting

Nature friendly castle near to Leiden. Architecture is nice, well maintained. Walks in the Wood is nice,
