AFNORTH International School

I attended school here. If I remember correctly this school had just been built. The elementary school I was attending had burned down. I am American and parents were U.S. Army. It was a good experience at the time and I would love to come back to visit the area

I was here in the early 80s when my father was stationed in Brunssum. Probably the best school I've ever been to. Lessons were mostly in German (me being German) but some were held in English. They even had a computer room full of Commodore PETs and even in the 80s we already had computer classes. Big old mess hall for hundreds of pupils, I really enjoyed it.

It was great. I graduated in 1974. This may not apply to present day.......or it might.

My father was based at AFCENT with the British Army (RMP) in the 1970's. So this was circa 1977/78. Grade 3 was based in what was known as 'the annex' which was situated off camp, and my teacher was an American lady called Mrs Webber.
She had a wonderful southern accent, and if we miss behaved, she'd say "look into my eyes child, I can tell when you're a' lying".
I sat next to a beautiful blonde haired, blue eyed boy called Scott Mason. I was just 8 and 'loved' him.
In my class we had British, American, Canadian, German and a few Dutch children. There were also some French speaking Canadian's on site.
My sister went to the main school, where she was mistreated by a teacher called Mrs Suter....(what she did to my sister stayed with her for life!!!).

We got to go into the American PX store to buy the Lifesaver lollipops 😀

Lived in Holland for 9 years and finished high school there. Everyone speaks English but it's easy to learn the language because there's Dutch subtitles on all English TV. Close family values and beautiful people. A great many inspirations and innovation s were born in this tiny country throughout Western Europe.

Went to 10th and 11th grade there in 74 and 75..I was great.Lived in Bruggen,Germany at RAF Bruggen,but my dad was in the USAF.They had a detachment there.Good times!!

This was the school I went to in 3rd grade. And this year I'm going to graudate.. looking on maps almost brings a tear to my eye of the good memories

It was a great experience. I was part of the first graduating class. I'm sure it is even better now.
