Het Volkspark (150 jaar)

Lovely park, also quite big and some facilities that can be used for different experiences. There are areas where you can train, play basketball/volleyball or watch some of the animals that are being taken care of somewhere in the park. Great for long walks, jogging, picnics or get together with friends. There is one big restaurant in the middle of the park where you can go for dining as well.

Really nice for hanging out, going for a walk, reading, etc. It has a lot of different areas and really often some cool events going on.

One of the great green parks of Enschede, wonderful too! Perfectly centred in Enschede, optimal walking distance from the train station and everything else I should say. Perfect during the Summer months for outdoor activities with a wide variety of Oak trees and Evergreens. During the Winter months the scenery is breath-taking and pristine. I have added a couple of snaps of this wonderful period. Spring and Autumn are great too, as long as the weather is Sunny then you can get the worthwhile experience. Most people I have seen take their kids for some leisure time, while the children do their own thing. For me it’s more of taking a shortcut to wherever I need to go and having a walk in the park is a good way to get some relaxing and fresh air. Most people I have met use the extensive area for jogging, training activities and or just enjoying the environment. Next to the park the city of Enschede organizes a seasonal fair, if you are into that kind of stuff. There is a pond were some ducks and geese enjoy the company of other beings with Earthy colognes. Stay away from the geese! They tend to bite if you get too close, or if they have younglings, which can be sketchy sometimes.

Very nice and lovely park to hangout and is really close to the city centre. Theres even a basketball court and outdoor gym. With the ducks and the little farm with domestic animals and birds..you feel really close yo the nature.

Very spacious and quiet park, some trees are impressive, real giants.
We enjoyed the birds: geese in the lake, turkeys, hens, and numerous multi-colored budgerigars.
Memorial to the WW2 victims is thought provoking, especially in 2022...

Great for walking, however it may be difficult to enter the park with a baby carriage, due to the gate (which was obviously intended to stop the bicycles).

Volkspark is always great for a walk or picnic. Additionally, it is a lovely spot for a festival. Here are some pictures from the Mout Bier Festival between August 6-8 2021. There was a good variety of delicious food, the music was nice, and the beer selection was impressive.

Best park in Enschede, beutiful landscape, water cheenels, pond , birds section , jogging track all in one !

A very calm and natural park. Massive trees and vast meadows. Very green and well preserved. On top of all the beauty there are even wild animals. You can see wild rabbits, ducks and all sorts of birds. Many people go there to relax or study since the atmosphere is so great for that. You can take a blanket and put it on the soft grass and spend a lot of hours just looking at the nature around you.

Nice place to chill, read books and have some quality time with family, friend or alone... Good for reasoning. I love to play my Yanni collections in this park.... Love is all!!

Beautiful place to spend a day enjoying the nature... Several places to make a picnic.

I love going here. Always so much fun at the events. We attended the artists exhibition. Excellent shows quite alot of real talent. Well attended also. Safe fun for the entire family. There was also a stage with live local music acts and they were downright excellent!

Volkspark in Enschede is a delightful park with scenic walking trails, excellent amenities, and a serene atmosphere. The park's beautiful pond is adorned with graceful ducks and elegant swans, creating a picturesque setting for visitors to enjoy. Highly recommended for nature lovers and families.

Nice city park very well maintained and well kept with some nice ponds and lots of open grassfields suited for some nice sunny day activity with nice shaded seating areas but also plenty of space to bask in the sun.
