What an amazing place to visit. Whether you are a history buff, a war history enthusiast, or just interested in European history you should definitely visit this museum. The museum itself is highly interactive are provided with a voice tour, which is programmed to go along with you as you go through the house. The house itself is organized into two floors and like three basements. You start on zero level floor, then work your way up and then back down. Both the dioramas and the exhibitions are incredible. If you’re in Arnhem it’s a recommended visit.

Visited this afternoon after dropping by the John Frost Bridge and Airborne Museum at the Bridge. Well worth the visit, spent a couple hours here but you could definitely spend longer. We didn’t book tickets in advance (4 adults + 1 child) but there was no wait & we were able to experience the museum and temporary exhibition at our own pace with no issues. One of the group was a wheelchair user who had no issues accessing the different spaces. The Airborne Experience is a great feature to end the visit with (although some people may wish to start with this experience to then reflect on the readings and accounts as you pass through the museum). I highly recommend. We parked behind the restaurant as recommended on the museum website. Lots of people seemed to be enjoying the grounds for a walk or even taking a moment to sit on the benches outside by the deer.

Very enjoyable museum about the history and importance of Oosterbeek (where the museum is located) and Arnhem during the world war periods. Learned quite some new things about what was done in the city of Oosterbeek and Arnhem during the war and also what the importance of the museum building was during those times. Definitely recommend checking this museum out and especially the video exhibition, it’s a short one but gives a very detailed overview of what happened and what went wrong. Also the interactive experience with the plane is also interesting. Overall great place to spend a good 2 to 3 hours and afterwards you can have a nice, peaceful and quiet walk in the garden/park around it.

A well laid out exhibition with multiple artifacts with explanations in both Dutch and English. A handheld voice system is provided for additional information throughout the museum. The experience downstairs is a nice addition to understand the past and reminded me of a similar exhibition in the Hendon Imperial War Museum (London).
While in the area, it’s worth to check the cementery and various locations of interest like the ones from Easy company and the Polish armed forces.

Great museum about operation Market-Garden! The Villa was the HQ of the cut off British forces during the operation! Weapons, uniforms and a set up immersive experience as if u are walking through the battle!

A great place to visit for those who track stories over the second world war. We spent about two hours and i feel this was not enough, i could have spent more time there. We parked the car by the restaurant next to the museum.

Interested in Operation Market Garden? Want to know more about the Bridge too Far? If so, you could do far worse than spend a couple of hours here.

With audio tour included in your ticket price (Dutch and English) and a great set of exhibits and interactive stands in a wonderful house, you'll emerge knowing a great deal about the battle.

We visited on 28 Dec 23. It's half price if you are serving military too - just show your ID card.

It has a coffee shop and some parking (including disabled parking) is nearby. There is also a 'perimeter walk' too.

THEY ONLY TAKE CARDS - NO CASH.

Great small historical museum. Follows the WW2 battle of Arnhem. Don't miss the basement level. Puts the battle and losses in perspective.

A really sad part of human history. That normal people have to fight other normal people who have been brainwashed by an evil dictator. The British graveyard nearby has the graves of 19 year olds whose whole life was gone. The Dutch are wonderful people and probably the friendliest nation in the world! I wish them all the best. Even after the madness of Brexit, we are still close friends.

This is one of the best museums I've been to. You really feel the history, heroism, and sacrifice as it's displayed and told through a personal audio guide, interactive screens, authentic displays, personal accounts, and much, much more. We spent 3 hours here.
Then, prepare yourself for a full 5 senses Airborne Experience at -3.........

Having been to Arnhem before I’ve never been to the Airborne museum. This place is actually a must see if you’re in the area. It’s well laid out with lots to see and learn. Great artefact’s from the era and lots to learn. The grounds are equally impressive.

One of the best museums I've been too. The lady at the counter was really informative and showed a lot of passion for the museum. The coffee at the little café is high quality for a normal price. The storytelling of the audiotour is also really compelling and well done. All the objects and audiovisual media is displayed in a very good manner.
Finally the airborne experience is a truly unique and interesting way to get a small impression of what it could've been like.

My only point of feedback is that the silent remembrance room is not closed off for noise from the surrounding rooms. This kind of defeats the purpose. It would be much more powerful if you'd enter a completely silent room.

Impressive! Very comprehensive, focusing on the tragic Market Garden operation of the Allied forces nearing the end of WWII. The audio tour that is part of admission was very well done and extensive, the displays showcased a wide range of British, German, Polish, and Dutch artifacts and personal stories. The amount of first person account shared via video recording was impressive. Besides learning all about the historic operation, they gave good oversight on the local history, the experience of Dutch, the special exhibits on Jewish persecution, and even German perspective was so eye-opening. Our pre-teen children were engaged the entire time. And the basement walk-thru experience was astounding!

A compact but informative museum situated at the former headquarters of the Allied forces during the push to Arnhem. My 8 and 10 year olds especially appreciated the audio tour machines that came with museum entry.

In particular, we found the exhibition on the Jewish experience and the basement Airborne Experience to be very educational.

We would recommend others to visit this museum and the surrounding sites to learn more about what happened almost 80 years ago.

This interactive experience is more than insightful and gives a great overview on Operation Market/Garden. The Museum is build in the origin place Hotel Hartenstein, which functioned as HQ and Hospital during WW2. The employees are outstanding giving advise and insights and are extraordinarily supportive. I suggest to book Tickets and timeslots in advance.

I wont post the millions of photos I have as then there would be no need to go.

The airborne experience was absolutely fantastic and out the box thinking!

You experience the plane with sounds and visuals then leave and walk through a war zone and get to see here and experience what it would have been like. Great gift shop.
Has a podcaster to change the language so anyone understands the language.

This is an excellent experience. A lot of items on display that have personal stories behind them.

If you do this location, be sure to also visit Airborne on the Bridge too!
