Amazing experience!!!
It's very educative but also fun.
We went on Wednesday and even if it was raining my girls really enjoyed it. We even went back the next day because they wanted to taste the insects!
They listened to the guided tour twice and didn't get bored because the animals they sowed were different every day, and also, the facts were explained in a different and entertaining way.
You have to understand Dutch to get the most of it.

Nice place to bring young kids with you. Don't miss the guide which let you feed or touch the animals like the Emu, snake or tarantula. The playground seems new too and is very insect-ish. And very nice for the kids is the opportunity to paint mould insects. Oh btw. watch out for rats in the toilet (just kidding 😆). Tbh Yes, some caves could be bigger, like the skunk is pacing back and forth.

Not a bad Zoo, although there are not many animals. Worth a visit once.

Friendly and informative place, suitable for children. Quite cosy, you can fully visit it within about two hours.
A highlight of your visit might eiter be the feeding time or the guided tour. The personnel is ready to answer all your questions.
During the guided tour the children have a chance to learn a bit about the animals, feed them and pet some of the species.
It's worth to mention that the entrance fee is very reasonable and parking is free.

Loads of animals for a small zoo. Also very interesting insects. Everything looked well cared for. They also had loads of skeletons from birds mostly but it was all very educational. Downside. We were somewhat later in the day and there werent many drinks to pick from. One of the few places opened on monday.

Really interesting small animal park for kids. You can spend easily few hours if you are interested in animals and "bugs".

Recommended for children. They also have a place for them to play and also a place to eat.

Super cute zoo. Small but full of beautiful animals. They have big parrots, budgies, sheeps, turtles, small monkeys, rabbits. They also have one part with a lot of fishes, insects and spiders.

In any case is worth a visit and not that expensive. We were there for like an hour and it was 7 € per adult.

Fantastic experience for young children who are starting to discover nature. Even mum and dad may learn a few fun facts. Best of all is that the entrance fee includes a plaster of Paris casting for reach child, which they can paint free of charge at the zoo. Visits are not restricted to good weather as most of the facilities are indoors.

One of the best places I have visited in Groningen so far with young children. Would highly recommend the guided tours as they are a lot of fun and very educational and make your visit well worth the money. The playground area for the kids is a bit limited but they are working on improving this in the near future. Will definitely visit it again.
