What a better place to put a modern art exhibition space than a castle near a village? Beautiful space with interesting statues outside, some of them gigantic, and innovative young art inside. The only issue is the partial lack of a footpath coming from the train station.

Best innovative sculptures, collections with a mixed style, lots of items from abroad, 2nd floor temporary exhibitions, extraordinary natural environment! Only one thing pity, without an English tour guide or brochure!!

Beautifully preserved castle, worth the entry fee.

Great sculpture garden, the castle, while small has some beautiful rooms, interesting art and good views of the gardens from inside. There are a couple of places for free parking. We were here for several hours and noticed many people on walks in the surrounding countryside.

Easy parking, short walk, free with Museum card, lovely grand castle and a beautiful setting. Must visit! Interesting art pieces inside the castle, surrounding buildings and gardens. Small restaurant and very helpful staff. Very picturesque and serene.

We were looking for a suitable place for families, which can also be of interest to our 2 year old. I was stunned by the sculptures on the pictures and I thought it would be amazing to explore it. Despite the cold January afternoon the place was amazing. The sculptures are extremely fascinating and original. Our kid enjoyed it a lot. We went into the castle as well. Good parking opportunities and if one does not want to pay the entrance fee, you can go wander in the nearby forest part of the Veluwe. Actually, in the price you can also visit the Museum Foundation in Zwolle.

Hidden jem. If you happen to visit Overijssel region do not miss two Fundatie Museum sites- one in the center of Zwolle, the second is this. Both are beautifully arranged, this one has a wonderful location in the old castle with a vast garden territory. Nice combination of old and modern art, good cafe, all necessary facilities for a 2-3 hours visit. Definetely worth of your time.

Het museum is zeker de moeite waard, maar het kasteel steekt daar toch 'torenhoog' bovenuit.
Het is een mooi kasteel met prachtige beeldentuin en momenteel een erg boeiende tentoonstelling van Maria Roosen en anderen ('Roosen & Guests').
Het personeel verdient ook een dikke pluim.
Echt de moeite waard.

Mooi museum in een mooie landelijke omgeving. Bezoek je het kasteel dan is het fijn om linksom even eerst de wandelroute om het kasteel te volgen. Je komt langs verschillende bijgebouwen en mooie dikke eiken. Aan het einde van de wandeling zie je een draaihek dat je moet passeren om je weg te vervolgen en waar je niet al te breed voor moet zijn. Ondertussen heb je een mooi uitzicht gekregen op de beeldentuin. Een kaartje koop je in het bijgebouw waar je meteen ook echt de mooie beeldentuin in kan gaan. Heel divers aangelegd op het historische landgoed. Ongeveer om de 3 maanden is er een nieuwe expositie te zien. Nu was dat ' Op zoek naar Vermeer', een vermakelijke expositie met een mooie rol voor meestervervalser Han van Meegeren. Ben je nieuw in het museum dan kan je de vaste collectie bewonderen die door het hele kasteel te zien is. Februari 2024 wordt met een verrassende tentoonstelling dat als een virus door de vaste collectie van het kasteel loopt, de inboedel letterlijk aan de kant gezet en verdrongen.

Mooi kasteel om te bezoeken. Prachtige beeldentuin! Horeca is goed, je kunt er zowel binnen als buiten zitten.
