Van der Valk Hotel Sassenheim - Leiden

This hotel is highly recommended, for several reasons. In my experience, certain aspects are similar or even better than what one can find in certain 4/5 star hotels. Spacious room and large comfortable bed; plenty storage space and a large modern shower. Lights can be dimmed, windows open to a terrace. Quiet and very well located even when one wants to visit a city nearby. Free parking space is another advantage. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Breakfast has plenty choice incl local products.

Great hotel, good restaurants. It had a Casino, pool table room pinball room, gym, and sauna.

This hotel after our unfurtunet cold room stay (tecnical problems) and after I let them know my opnion ben supposedly ben kind to send me an e mail to inform me they will refund 100 euro as party of my payment . This very kind and I apriciate they do something about it ..wow Dr R Mosaiieby

Very very very friendly staff. If you wanna be away from a city center, but still get treated nice and sleep in a nice room, this is your place to go. Hotel is fun, restaurants are high quality, and most importantly it is clean.

Surprising good experience. Really like the room

Nice hotel, close to Leiden and the "Bollenstreek" (tulip fields). Rooms were very nice and breakfast was good. There's also a casino on site, so parking got pretty busy in the weekend. There's a game room for kids and two restaurants in case you want to dine in. Also plenty of options relatively close by (hotel is right next to the highway).

We always have a fantastic stay at this
hotel. The restaurant deserves extra compliments for itself. This hotel breakfast is the best I have ever had. Every time. The range of various dishes for a mere breakfast buffet is simply amazing. They have everything from sweet and sugary to deliciously healthy alternatives such as freshly made omelettes or salmon sandwiches.

we just had dinner there, atmosphere is nice, service is very good. Food is also good.

The hotel is very nice, including an incredible bathroom and the lovely balcony. The only issue was that the beds were not comfortable at all. It felt like there was a spring in the middle of the beds that was rolling us off the mattresses.

📍 …5min walk from Sassenheim Station and possible to walk into Leiden in less than an hour - nice stroll through green landscape. Not much in local vicinity of the hotel for those that don’t want to walk or travel far

🐸 …my only negative on the stay was that I found it a little difficult to settle due to the sounds of nature out my window (some may enjoy it)

very good price / performance hotel. Its a little outside of the Leiden centre. By car is it no problem at all. The hotel itself is clean, modern and fancy. I really enjoyed my stay :)!

Spent a night here while visiting Keukenhof. Excellent value for money, huge rooms, good breakfast and very friendly staff. Recommended!

A very nice hotel of a chain with a century-old tradition of hospitality. Rooms are spacious and convenient. The restaurant is not extravagant, but provides quite fine food.
The location is reasonably close to the railway station and highway. But it is in outskirts of a small town, so no spectacular sights, only some Dutch pastoral.
The hotel serves as a place for meetings and conferences, and is quite good in this role. Several meeting rooms, with beamers, climate control, and of course wi-fi. The staff responds quickly when any help is required.
Conclusion: a very good place for business meetings; also good for tourists with a car or willing to rent a bike.

PS: there is a casino, but I didn't have any chance to visit it, so no review about that part.

We stayed here a few weeks ago for our honeymoon. The place is extremely nice with massive rooms! What was really amazing though was the front desk and especially Glen S! Wow, he went above and beyonnd to suprise my new wife with rose petals, champagne, chocolates and a special card. Thank you so much, really. We were both blown away by how awesome you made our room and also we have to say thanks to Melony who was very lovely during our stay! Thanks team 😁😁

I hadn't seen the restaurant in a few years, but it looks a lot better. Great atmosphere. I love the open kitchen. I was there for a going away party for a co-worker and got drinks, snacks, and dinner. Everything was very good and the service was friendly and pretty reliable as well.

Excellent service, quiet location away from the city center. Spacious rooms

Our room on the ground floor was very spacious, bigger than expected. Nice modern bathroom, good fitness, lovely food in thr restaurant. Only the restaurant service was very slow, the younger ones did not seem much experience.

Very Nice hotel, the people working there are really carefull with us. The hotel is extremely clean, with really nice rooms. The breakfast is really delicious, with a lot of good options. It´s really easy to reach the Schipol airport from this hotel. So I strongly recommend this place...

Amazing hotel. Luxurious rooms and suites. Everything is perfect! You can go to the sauna and fitness room for free. Dinner in this hotel is terrific. The only thing I found a bit disappointing is that there are no busses around or any other transportation around here, so I highly recommend coming here with a bike or car etc. But overall I am really happy about this hotel.
