Afrikaans Restaurant Seni

We decided to come here and try this type of food. It turn out quite good and spice, which is something definitely important. We both ordered beef, one spicy (wasn't really spicy) and the other one mild, they tasted great with the Injera (kind of incredible thin tortilla to eat based on sorghum flour), as side dish we got some salad. The portion was perfect since we're not big eaters. We enjoyed it and wil come again to try out more dishes. Congratulations with your 5 years!

I had a lovely experience at Seni. We came here with a group of 8. The food was cooked fresh on the spot, it was colorful and flavorful. The staff was incredibly friendly and engaging, and they were very excited to share with us their food and culture!

Very cosy and authentic restaurant with delicious food from Eritrea. All dishes were served on one plate together and we could eat with our hands. It was a great experience with a very sympathetic owners.

Amazing African (Eritrean/Ethiopian) in Haven. Each dish is unique and you get a generous portion of injera (sourdough flatbread) used to scoop up all the delicious items. The owners have a genuine passion for the food they serve and are very friendly. Get the spice powder and add to all dishes if you like some heat.

The place is really authentic and the food is amazing! But what was most amazing of all was how much effort the owners put on the presentation of the food, the music, decoration, and atention. They received us with so much joy. The beef was amazingly good.

Food was superb! Everything was so delicious from the starter to the dessert.
Starting already from the place, nice and very cosy, and then I could see the old african lady working in the kitchen (and at this very point, I knew already we were going to eat something special)
We got 5 mixed dishes from the chef and it was the best choice we could get, I personally went to collect every bit left in the dish for how tasty it was.
Last but not least, the dessert...
Please order the Baklava, it's the best one I have ever eaten in my life.
I know for sure I HAVE to come back eating in this place. Please follow my tips and come to this restaurant, you won't regret it, I swear.

Its hard to come by an Afrikaans restaurant in Almere. This restaurant is unique with a friendly owner. She asked me to give a review. I can say that decoration could improve, especially the table and seats were terrible. The menu is too short. After one visit I feel like I tried everything on the menu, so no reason to come back or is it... I ordered a mix of different meals and got after a short while a beautifull presented dish. I were expected to eat without cutlery. Ok, I tried to keep my fingers clean at first but everything I ate gave me explosions of colorfull tastes, which I rarely experienced before. The unique approach to sweet, sour, salt, bitter and savorin gave me thrills, and there I was as a child with dirty fingers on my right hand mad that the meal was finished, perhaps eating without cutlery or chopsticks helped me to experience eating otherworldly. I just loved it!

Amazing Erithrean/Ethiopean food, original interior and very friendly service. Not too many options on the menu, but we ordered the combination meat and veggie dishes and we wiped the plate clean. The prices are decent.

Ate there recently. The food is amazing, really amazing. I think the owner both serves and makes the dishes and she does a wonderful job. My friend and I both took the large pancake with several spots of small dishes. Was quite a lot, and so tasty. Really reminds me of a mix of Italian and Indian, but earthier. You can really taste the love in the food. And the owner is so nice too.

Amazingly tasty experience we had at Seni. We came for an international food project and we were very delighted to find this hidden gem in one of Almere’s neighbourhoods. The food was a blast. The fried chickpea and tomato spread in combination with the sour pancake was a total revelation. I am also still dreaming about that warm, soft yet crunchy and not too sweet pistachio baklava. My gosh.
Another big thing is how super friendly and helpful the staff is. They answered all my weird questions. I would definitely eat there often if I were to live in Almere or around. Highly recommended. Very grateful for the experience.

We were 11 people having dinner last Saturday, it was just amazing.
The service was perfect, all time asking if everything was okay and you could feel they were really happy just because we were enjoining the food so much.
We asked for advice and tried many dishes, all of them nice, I couldn’t prefer one than other.

We will come for sure, I surely recommend this place to everybody!

Very welcoming owners with great passion for food and hosting. This was another visit of mine with a larger group on a friend's birthday and owners set a perfect vibe by playing lovely music, tastiest Ethiopian vegetarian food and then in the end offered a Champagne on the house to celebrate birthdays.

The food is made of organic ingredients and Injeras were very soft and tasty with flour grounded in windmill.
