Hof van Saksen

Everything was great. The indoor kids play hall is great, especially for the cold rainy days. Table service is prompt and polite and super convenient when you're looking after your toddler. I wish there were a bit more lunch options than just toast and bitterballen. We loved the brand new peuterzaal. Note that the closest parking is a 10 minute walk.

We had a pleasant stay during Christmas time. I lost my phone charger during the stay, submitted the lost and found form, and a week later it was sent home. This is what they call customer experience service! Keep up the good work!

Such a range of activities - we stayed a week and were busy every day. Only paid extra for a handful of things (bowling, climbing, laser tag, fashion academy and woodworking). Great attitude towards the lake - use as you are safe to do, including swimming in a rainstorm - and such friendly staff.
Pool complex with slides is brilliant, although be wary of the age and height restrictions.
Thoughtful touches with a sculpture trail around the grounds.
Accommodation is nice, well designed with bike stores and plenty of space.
Reasonable food options and the on site shop isn't too expensive.
Overall practically perfect, and when the youngest is 8 I'm sure we'll be back!

Loved it! The slides are great, and the kids didn't want to leave the pools. The kids parks are also magnificent

Hof van Saksen is such a wonderful place to go with kids. The park is really green and well laid out, doesn't feel crowded even at the height of summer. The facilities are fantastic - great water slides, plenty of kids activities, but above all there's some really great leftfield stuff - a woodworking shop, needlecrafts and art - by the end of the week, that's where the kids wanted to spend most of their time. And the staff are lovely - friendly, fun, nothing is too much trouble,

Hof Van Saksen is hands down the best vacation park we've ever been to (sorry, other bigwigs of the vacation world, but you just can't beat this place!). As a family with young kids, we had an absolute blast here.

The restaurants at Hof Van Saksen were top-notch. We loved trying out different cuisines and nothing ever disappointed us. The house we stayed in was unbelievably clean and spacious, and had everything we needed (plus more!) - the beds were even pretty comfortable.

The highlight of our stay, though, had to be the pool. Our 4-year-old daughter spent all day, every day in the kiddie pool area, while our 11-year-old son and his buddy were thrilled with the slides and the wild-water ride.

Overall, we left Hof Van Saksen with smiles plastered across our faces and an eagerness to come back. It was worth every penny and is a must-visit for anyone looking for a fantastic family vacation.

Lovely accommodation 5* quality. The range of activities for children of all ages (especially over 8s) is amazing. The supermarket on site is excellent and prices aren't inflated. The swimming pool is the best we have ever been too and even in August the queues for slides were short.

The online booking system for activities takes a bit of getting to grips with best to ask at reception as to how it works (we didn't completely understand it and missed out booking some activities such as outdoor climbing).

What a great place to holiday at. Houses are lovely, facilities are great. We loved the sandy beach at the lake. The children really enjoyed the activities. Waterslides are brilliant and fashion and woodwork workshops kept the children well entertained for hours.
We will be back.

The park it is really nice lot of activities, somes gratis other ones you pay, like cooking 10 euros per person also have to make a reservation, bowling 22 euros for one hour.
Restaurants are relly nice, staff are friendly and very professional. Food also good. Nice big swimming poolsand play grow . Now room was no clean upstairs but once reported, was a really fast response from staff 👍, this was outstanding. Definitely a good park to visit with kids.

A very nice vacation park. The 'farms' you stay in are pretty great and comfortable, though sometimes a bit rough around the edges with well-used equipment. The restaurants are varied and the dishes are excellent. There are plenty of activities to sign up for, but there is also an abundance of playgrounds and the pool has several exciting slides. Best of all, the staff is competent and super friendly.

Nice and spacious resort. Accomodations are clean and cozy. Great for families with kids. Indoor Swimmingpool has different Pools and 5 exciting slides. Also the Indoor playground area is loved by children. Both can be entered without additional charge when accomodated in the resort. Will visit again..

One of the best holiday parks we have been to! The farmhouse we had was big, clean, equiped with everything it needed and very comfy. Everything was ready for us and we even had a bunch of tulips in a vase waiting for us. The fireplace was the finishing touch to end the days we spent outside. Highly recommend this place👍🏻

Hof van Saksen is a really beautiful park to stay for a weekend or long weekend. The park itself looks beautiful and is very well kept. The house we had for 6 people was definitely big enough and looked tidy. We reported one lamp not working in the morning and 2 hours later it was fixed. The pool in the park is fun. If you are into cool water slides dont look further. We went to one restaurant on the park and the food was excellent. Not anything to complain about so that's awesome. Enjoyed my time there. Also before I forget the supermarket on the park was reasonable priced

We very much enjoyed our stay here. We were expecting something similar to our Center Parcs stays in the UK (though this is obviously a different company) but were pleasantly surprised by the cheaper overall price. There was a great range of activities for kids, including climbing, canoeing, laser tag. The pool is good, with great water slides, though these aren't all suitable for younger children.
I would suggest hiring bikes for as much of your time here as you can, as it makes getting around the large site much easier.
For shopping, the on site market is quite comprehensive and reasonably priced but there is also a good 'Jumbo' supermarket in Assen about 15mins drive away.
In the local area we visited Orvelte village (ok if you are passing but not necessarily worth a special visit). We also just enjoyed a few local bike rides, for example into Rolde village nearby (which has some good cafés for a quick coffee and cake before returning).
The lodge itself was well appointed and generally clean.

We hope to return!

Great holiday park to visit with kids. Swimming pool had been upgraded with nice new slides and temperature is better now. Friendly and helpful staff. Indoor play area is nice as well. In walking distance not much to do but this is being offset by the park and his attractions easily.

This Landal holiday park is the best and most luxurious they offer. The bungalows are spacious, clean and have modern amenities.
For kids of all ages the park offers some form of entertainment, sports clinics, beauty- fashion- or technical academies and a huge indoor playground!
There are several restaurants where you can dine or just get pizza delivered to your bungalow.
The swimming pool is probably one of the main attractions of this park, with a lazy river and four very fun water slides!
Compared to other parks, it's not the cheapest but definitely worth your visit!!

Best vacation we have ever had! We stayed 5 days with 2 kids ( 6mo and 4yrs). Accommodation was very comfortable and everything was well designed for a family with little children. I really recommend children holiday house with baby room and high bed. Our daughter had so much fun and she was really upset last day, she didn't want to go back to home.

Corona preventions were also good enough, reservation is needed for swimming pool and playground. Limited people per hour makes all the facility better to use. Nowhere was overcrowded. We really enjoyed during our stay.

We love this place and come regularly. Great accommodation with abundant activities for the children.

Place is constantly evolving as well. Loads of water slides and new activities. And unlike Center Parcs, you don't get stung with cist if activities, here they ard either free, or typically €5 - €10.

We will keep on coming back. We love it here ❤
