Wagenborg Ferry Services

Wagenborg Ferry Boat is like a say Mini Cruise. It takes you from Lauwersoog to Schiermoonikoog across the North Sea. The to and fro fare is € 15/- pp. It takes 45 mins to reach across. Comfortable sitting arrangements has been made on 3 floors like at the bottom , ground and upper deck. Decent Eatery , Toilet facility are available on the deck.

Wonderful. Very smooth connection from Groningen by bus to the ferry at Lauwersoog, easy check-in with a QR code, and then a pleasant ride across the channel. Food and drinks are avaliable on board as well as a small selection of souvenirs. Toilets were clean, and in both cabis there were many seats available. Same positive experience on the ride home. Everyone is quite well organized and the staff are friendly.

It was quite crowded on our return. Neither on the way to Schiermonnikoog nor on the way back could we find a place to sit by the window to enjoy the view on the water. But I cannot blame the company for that; after 18 km walk on the island the day before, my legs were resisting my wish to rush into the boat and get the best seat 😉

Great ferry service. On time and equipped with a bar service with food, coffee and WiFi to make the 45 min ride even more entertaining. The roundtrip costs 18 euro, which sems to be reasonable for the cost of Dutch public transportation.

Nothing to complain, works as advertised and planned. Souuth and friendly trip.
