Heeswijk Castle

The castle is located amidst fields and wilderness. Ideal for a bicycle ride or a walk. You have to take rather a longer route to enter but the surrounding is greenish and very pleasing.
The castle had a war re-enactment when we visited. It was a great experience for all the visitors.
Inside the castle, you will find guides but you can also be supported by the audio guide.
I think the castle also accommodate functions like weddings, etc.
At the entrance , there is a nice restaurant that serves delicious foods. Not a huge variety but the foods and drinks are very tasty and comparatively cheap.

Overall, it is a very enjoyable experience !

Castle was beautiful! Fun to walk around inside. There was a lot of full rooms with antique furniture to match, a lot more than other castles in the country. Felt like we had the place to ourself.

A beautiful little gem of a castle. Even on the weekend it was not particularly busy at all. Helpful volunteer who explained everything to us. Would certainly recommend.

Nice castle with an interesting museum. When we were there when the restaurant was closed, but got something to drink anyway because it was hot outside. Friendly staff, visit includes a free audio guide, which is a bit cumbersome to carry around and still make photos.

Beautiful and well maintained castle originally built almost 1000 years back. The garden (and cafe) are added attaractions. Good access from both motorway and from the village with free parking (car and bike) available within the castle estate. More than worth a visit. Tickets can purchased online or at the castle itself.

Looking for a relaxing day plan? This is a nice option, we like the castle and the surroundings. It takes around 1h 30min to visit calmly. There is a café there with a nice terrace.

Heeswijk is a beautiful castle near den Bosch. The castle is not very large but still quite cosy with multiple rooms, lot of art and so much antiquities from few centuries ago. Overall, a beautiful place to visit on a Sunday afternoon.

Beautifull place to visit. Nice to have a walk around it to admire its beauty. If you get the chance to see it when it has snowed, i highly recommend you go see it as it shows a new beauty. You can walk along a path that starts and stops here.

30minute with bus from the den bosch central station.

Lovely location. Plenty of parking. Outdoor space for walks and picnic. We saw turtles and black swans! Castle full of interesting objects and paintings. The rooms give an idea of what living in the castle would have been like.

Wonderful castle in the Dutch countryside. Free parking. There is also a nice cafe inside the castle.

Glorious castle from medieval time, surrounded by lovely nature.

Brabant has four 'Top monuments': St John's Cathedral (Den Bosch), Grote Kerk (Breda), Markiezenhof (Bergen op Zoom) and in the outlying area castle 🏰 Kasteel Heeswijk. On September 17, 1944, paratroopers of the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st US Airborne Division, 🇺🇸 landed here. Together with other airborne forces they prepared the way for the advancing Allied armies during operation Market-Garden. Their heroic battle took the heavy yoke of occupation away from this part of the Netherlands. In gratitude this monument was erected.
Those who gave their lives for our freedom will always be remembered."

A beautiful castle out of the 11th century with an immense park where you can walk. There is a bar/restaurant on the property, visits of the castle, and the rich history of the castle makes it a very interesting place to visit.

An stunningly restored castle and estate which is definitely worth the visit. The story of its occupant's is well told and as is the connection with the local area. The Cafe is a great place to enjoy a snack and drink afterwards.

The castle is perfectly and beautifully maintained. It is settled in nature?, very pleasant área to walk.

We had so much fun walking around this small castle. You can use your Museumkaart and they have an audio tour in English and Dutch. There is also a nice cafe where we stopped to have a beer and some poffertjes. Lekker!
