An interesting open-air museum with houses and everyday life from different eras. There are 4 workshops for children for a small fee (felting, candle making, campfire baking and clay casting) and there were free activities such as sword fighting, magic shows and archery. There is a restaurant and picnic areas on site. There is a large children's playground. In general, definitely recommend visiting.

Unique museum that everyone can enjoy. Lots of activities for young and old. Fascinating that they have videos and artifacts to showcase the history of the Netherlands. Must visit and super highly recommend

Amazing open-air museum about the history in the Netherlands. The have a section about the hunter-gatherer people in the Netherlands, as well as the first farms in the Netherlands. There is is small piece about the people that build the portal tombs in the Netherlands. After this there is a big section about the history of ancient Rome, with many nice buildings and even a gladiator show. They currently are also restoring an old Roman ship that was found in the Netherlands. Furter, there is a large section about the middle ages with many nice houses you can enter. Lastly, there are many activities for kids like archery, training as a Roman soldier and drawing things. So recommended for kids. Also they accept the museumkaart.

Great experience if you love history. The roman history was excellent but the round houes and iron age long houses were my favourite

I like it that it has different time stamps like prehistoric to roman age.. and that there are different things to see and do.. I did archery there, and it was a lot of fun.

Cosy vibes, I would very much recommend doing the tours, because the guides tell passionately and they know a lot about the eras! Also make sure to be there on time, you can easily spend a whole day here if you want to have all the experiences.

When coming with kids reserve the whole day especially if you buy the activity cards as well. We arrived at 12:30 and did not get to see and do everything by closing hours.

The place is very interesting and each attraction takes a while. Each corner has its own story and the activities are nice. Quite interactive for everyone.

It was so so so super fun! I painted a rock and made a fibula (its like an ancient old safety pin?) and I ate there as well. I also went ice skating there which was very fun but the annoying thing was that little children kept bumping in to me and the staff got mad at ME and told me to watch out even though those kids even bumped in to me when I was standing still. I also got my face painted there and the rest of the staff was very nice and really in their role. I also did sword fight and that was really cool. I made new friends there as well. After I was done I went to the gift shop and they had THE cutest bracelets (sadly I got a rash from one of them) and they were only €2.50 each. Overall recommend.

Second time! Still plenty of new activities to do! Stuff are so friendly and funny! Its more like a theme park than a museum tbh! Really enjoy our visit, will come back again in warmer time.

I am part of an entertainment group to their winterfair event.
It is really well organised and the atmosphere is unique. If you like good food, lots of fun and want to have an experience you never had before, be sure to visit the winterfair!

Nice and carefully decorated museum park, awesome for kids, but for adults also enjoyable! Prehistoric/medieval village was superior to the roman area. Themed and dressed up employees bring the experience really to life. 23 euros is quite expensive though, but if you have a museumkaart it's really a must visit.

Very fun day out!! Didn’t think we would spend the whole day here, but we didn’t leave until 4:30pm! There is so much to do and see, especially for kids.

I advice getting the activity pass, so kids can bake bread, make a candle, make a Roman helmet, make a bracelet and a Fibula.

The pancakes in ‘Het Klooster’ are great with some ‘schenkstroop’ on them :)

The Archeon is a beautiful open air learning museum. Children can visit well made buildings and habitations from prehistory to roman empire and middle age. Actors dressed as people from these times make the experience even better. There are also many nice activities for the children. I guess it is best suited for children between 6-12

Incredible place! A lots things to see and learn. Many workers here to explain everything for the visitors. Very interesting activities during the weekend! Entrance ticket is expensive, but with the museum card is free! The workers here are very kind and patient, too.

The viking week was fantastic! AGAIN! This is an amazing outdoor, live action museum. It's like walking through time from the Neolithic to the Middle Ages. There are interactive presentations everywhere linked to had made structures (temples, homes, businesses etc). It's free with a museum card and also open as an accommodation and function Centre.
Cannot recommend this place enough, easily worth a 6* rating.

This place is great for taking your kids, it has fun activities in certain areas such as swordfighting (which is was quite good at), archery and more! The place is a little small but it would be fun and educational for your children if you ever plan on going!

The place is original and interesting for both kids and adults, in September it was already cool, but dry, we spent a whole day there on a friend's birthday with 17 other children-guests, but didn't feel intimidated))

Super place that has an air of authenticity thanks to the passion of the individuals dedicating their time to this place. A true haven of nature & culture in South Holland, Archeon is a very nice place for the young and old alike. Just another reminder of why I love living in the Netherlands!

The BEST “museum” I ever visited!! I loved how they have the ages and how they explain to children and even adults what they could and could not do at that age!!! I am a geologist and fascinated by the subject and they were perfect!!! We loved the canoeing exercise!
I am really impressed by this place!
Recommend to all!!!
