Van Nelle Factory BV

I visited Van Nelle factory on a tour. The building is a UNESCO heritage site, famous for its beautiful modern architecture. It is a bit obscure and off the beaten track as a tourist destination but definitely worth a visit if you are an achitecture/art fan. There is a nice view from the top floor on the surroundings, with Rotterdam skyscrapers in the distance. To my knowledge, it is open for tours only on week ends. English language tour was excellent, highly informative and brought the building to life. It should be booked in advance online. The factory is accessible from Rotterdam central by taxi ride (probably there is also a public transportation option but i am not sure).

Lovely experiences. I highly recommend the Art Fairs in The Netherlands. Van Nelle Factory is a great place for events and conferences. PS: Before ending your visit, grab a homemade cider made right at Van Nelle Factory

It’s a beautiful world heritage building. You need to book in advance to visit the inside because there offices there. Otherwise you will end up wondering around from outside like me!

To begin with, it doesn't feel too fascinating, when you're associating it with UNESCO! However when you understand that this was built in 1925-31, in the beginning of industrial revolution, when all other buildings were built of bricks and primarily opaque - this, primarily made of glass & steel and primarily transparent - is an absolute shocker! This paved way for, set an inspiration for all the sky-scraper office buildings that you see today that are just glass & steel!

Massive building which is used for various events. I was there for art Rotterdam. Which lets you wander around the ground floor and discover art.

A beautiful old coffee and tobacco factory which now holds multiple office spaces, gyms, workshops, and exhibition halls. Ample parking as well.

Architecture is very strong. They even preserved interiors all the way to the tiniest details. Like taking a time machine going back in time.

I went there for the vaccination. I was impressed how big it is. They have done an amazing job transforming it into a business and cultural center.

It's definitely an interesting and unusual event venue. Very much an Industrial Grunge feeling to it. The event I went to had around 700 people which were easily and very well accommodated for dinner. I'm assuming the food was catered due by the venue and it was excellent nothing at all to complain about either the location, food or service - impeccably run event and I'm sure in large part to the venue.

The building itself being an old coffee factory is really interesting architecture wise and just for the curious. Definitely a place that is out of the ordinary.

A warehouse layout transformed into an event venue. The location has a paid car parking it costs approx 1.5 euros for 2 hours. Hillsong church conducts service here every sunday 11.00 am to 1.00 pm.

This is a real example of creating value from a non-functional factory in which the physical structures, which would have otherwise been in disuse, are converted into very useful value chains in the city's economy. So much to learn and enjoy going there.

Wonderful location. Architecture and industrial atmosphere is amazing. Very good factory. Worth to see.
