If you’re fit enough to get up the steep stairs (and down again as well), you rewarded with a very nice view on the water and surrounding acre. While you make you way up the tower you’ll pass along pictures and display cases showing the kind of local fauna and flora you might spot as well as the history of the tower (spoiler: it’s the only remnant of an old village called ‘Koudekerke’ founded in the 14 hundreds, that was taken by the sea). From the top you might spot some seals resting on a sandbank near the shore; there there’s a small telescope you can use for free (you can move it to the left or to the right on the rail it is attached to).

An absolute treat of a random discovery from looking along our planned route for interesting diversions.

Most benefit to be gained if you read Dutch, but hardly diminished enjoyment of the information panels by estimating the text from English and German.

The view from the top is a joy

Steep stairs lead to a wonderful view over the Oosterschelde.
You can see birds and seals if you are lucky. Try to get there during low tide to see the large sandbanks.
Nice storytelling on each floor about the history and nature around. Dutch only though.

Little museum inside a tower, telling the story of the drunken villages and the nature surrounding the Oosterschelde. From the top you have a beautiful few of the surroundings and if you're lucky, you can even spot seals resting on the sand banks

Must visit if nearby. Small and free museum explaining the fauna and flora of the region as well as the history of the village that was here.

The major highlight is the top floor. Bring binoculars or use the ones provided to spot seals and birds on the sand banks!

Great place to observe the Roggenplaat sandbank with a high quality Swarovski monocular fixed at the top of the tower. There is a very interesting and well set up exhibition on the local fauna and flora inside the tower.

An awesome view and an interesting museum inside!!! There's an automated story told just inside the entranceway and then a very narrow staircase leading upstairs, but don't worry, it opens back up again into mini museums before you get to the top of the tower where you can see way out on the North Sea. Speaking of the North Sea ... the North Sea Cycle Route runs right past the tower!!!

When you realise there were bustling towns and villages in this area and this beautiful tower is all that is left. It sobered me up and I was thinking of the people and the houses, the cattle and goods that were lost to the fierce force if the water floods. I hope it will never happen again. Please help keep our planet safe.

Amazing view, those metalic binocular thingies on rails on the top are free of charge, lots of information taught quite entertainingly, albeit in dutch only. All completely free of charge! Amazing place!

A must visit if you're nearby. Climb the stairs and be amazed by the 360 views on both the national park 'Oosterschelde' and the agricultural land.
Free to use binoculars on a pan-rail!
Both the Deltaworks and the Zeelandbrug can be seen on clear wheather conditions.
