Great place to have a walk or maybe even just hang out. The garden has many different sections with beautiful and interesting plants. The Chinese garden is gorgeous. The service was amazing and the garden is wheelchair accessible (even possible to borrow a wheelchair).

Loved it, very peaceful. I was there during an art exhibition and had a lot of fun roaming around on my own trying to find all the statues indicated in the booklet. The chinese botanic garden is also stunning. Incredible place to free your mind from exam stress

Wonderful natural park two steps from Groningen.
Mesmerising experience in a super quiet environment outside the busy city centre. Hortus Haren offers a wide variety of settings inside its premises, like the Chinese garden and a Nordic labyrinth.
Price per person is a bit high but it's worth for a long day spent with the family in this place. Inside it's possible to sit and relax in many spots or at the cozy bar on the tiny lake.

One of the oldest and largest botanical gardens in the Netherlands. They have lots of different styles of gardens. Interesting! One of the biggest Chinese garden in Europe has a large Chinese tea house and a ponds with some lovely buildings. Entrance gate, walls and waterfall are beautiful too. Acers and other shrubs has lovely autumn color. Friendly staff and gardeners!

These gardens are wonderful. Full of wildlife too with hares, deer, lots of different species of birds and we saw a mole too. The Chinese Garden is the highlight here, but everywhere is beautiful. There is also a restaurant in the centre of the gardens and a souvenir shop at the exit. We thought the entrance fee was good value for money. Free parking behind the petrol station opposite the gardens entrance. We visited the gardens then took the bus to Groningen, leaving the camper in the car park.

Too beautiful !! Especially the Chinese Garden is outstanding. Various species of plants have been planted here. Botany students must pay a visit here. Green ponds, artistic garden bridges, colourful plants and flowers which together has made this location perfect for photo session and one day picnic. Amazing cafe on the premises is a cherry on the top. I have seen many families coming here with their children and grandparents. The bus stop is just in front of this garden. Take utmost care of children as the green ponds have no railing.

Exquisite botanical garden where to enjoy a few hours of relax alone, with friends or family. Recommended to visit in April/May, when most of the plants are flowering!

At €9 a bit pricy, but this probably most beautiful botanical garden of the Netherlands is certainly worth it. Chinese and English gardens, even heather fields and a forest part. Amazing colors in autumn.

A very beautiful location, there is a small quest for children, a labyrinth around which plants are planted during the months of their flowering. I really liked the location with a waterfall and large fish, a lot of interesting things can be seen at the location itself and read about plants. A good place to enjoy nature

Really enjoyed talking a walk here even though it was the winter season. We especially enjoyed the Chinese and Celtic gardens. Highlight of the visit however was a beautiful Cornus mas which was blooming already in early February. Will definitely visit again.
