Flonk Hotel Groningen Zuid (Former Best Western)

We visited the hotel because we are planning to organize a conference there. The auditorium and the foyer are really nice! Really perfect for a conference. And the lobby overall just looks great and professional. They also havr quite a big restaurant and a terrace + a private room in the restaurant.

We stayed for a second time during the Christmas season. Our kids love it here. From the breakfast which is great. ( if they have salmon do not miss it) to the family rooms, the service and scenery outside. We can only give 5 stars. Dear Flonk team, Thanks for the unicorn balloon. My daughter is in love. And thanks for making us southerners feel so very welcome in the North. See you next year. The Wedervoort family

Modern looking hotel, friendly staff, comfy rooms and great shower. Good facilities

Very good all-round hotel. The restaurant and breakfast are good, plus the rooms are comfortable and clean. I spend multiple nights per week in hotels thoughout The Netherlands and can easily say that this one is my favourite.
A special shout out goes to the people who work here, both at the lobby and the restaurant. They're extremely helpful and always manage to build a friendly, positive and welcoming atmosphere. Other hotels could definitely learn from this!

Good to know: the location and free parking are convenient when travelling by car (which could be cumbersome at other locations in Groningen).

Hotel located in a beautiful area of ​​the Drentsche Aa national park. Lovely view on the lake. Rooms a bit small but well organized. Good breakfast and very nice staff.

The staff here were fantastic. Super friendly, extremely helpful, and we so appreciated it as tourists from Canada. The rooms were a little small, but very updated and very clean. I can't stress enough how great the staff were... We forgot a couple things and they were so happy to help us out, they gave us some treats "just because" and gave recommendations on where to eat. We only stayed one night as it was a stop-over while we were traveling but would have happily stayed here again.

We liked this Hotel. It was clean and the personnel were lovely. Breakfast was excellent and a nice dinning area with views of the water park. In the room I was a bit dissapointed to find there was no black tea among the selection of 3 fruity teas as I love a cuppa to get me going on a morning. The matresses on the 'double bed' slid away from each other very badly so we nearly fell through and phones and cards etc kept dropping down into the void.
We biked to the center and back and it was quite do-able and not an unpleasant ride along the water. The walk we took through the park behind was lovely with lots of birds to look at. Very charming. The geese were very noisy but not unfriendly. I think they were hoping we had some food for them.

Great, luxiourious and renovated hotel with inside swimming pool (nice luke warm water to swim). Comfort in a green environment. Different elevators available and some parking places for disabled persons in front of the entrance. Looks like the elavators are recently equipped with an air ventilation (covid 29 measure?).

Family room was very big. Shuttle only on weekends, but the bus or rental bike to town is convenient. 2.50 Euro for day pass with 5 minute walk to bus. Easy parking for over height van. Nice breakfast.

Clean and good equipped rooms. Kettle with coffee and tea in rooms are big plus. Very nice and helpful staff. Hotel landing on my white list to back there when will visit Groningen again 😁

Very enjoyable stay. The rooms were on the smaller side, but very comfortable and modern.

Dinner services were great, with very good food and staff. The same applies to breakfast.

Overall, a great stay.

Very clean, spacious apartment with outdoor patio. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

Friendly service, including a free shuttle service to the city center. Rooms are small, but very clean. Design of the hotel is a bit old fashioned, but it's well maintained.

Attended a presentation here. Beautiful hotel with a nice and well equiped presentation room. Seats were excellent and the bar was well equiped. Friendly personel. I had a great evening!

Great place, brilliant view. Friendly staff and super food. Nicely priced. I have to stay there weekly for a full year. Looking forward to next week.

What a nice hotel..sits besides a lake.. persinnels are nice and helpful..wears always a smile.. restaurant is cozzyyy.. onbijt is lekker.. they have a swimming pool and it is open for hotel guest.. price is reasonable...
