Zo jammer dat je dit fantastisch mooie gebouw maar van één kant goed kunt zien. Maar goed, we mogen blij zijn dat het er nog staat en goed onderhouden wordt. Ik zou willen dat meer inwoners van Ypenburg beseffen wat zich hier heeft afgespeeld op 10 mei 1940.

Dit was één van de oudste vliegvelden.Stationsgebouw is ontworpen door de architecten Brinkman en van der Vlugt,die ook de van Nelle fabriek in Rotterdam hebbeb ontworpen.
