I am so proud of this world war two hero and wish I was as brave if I had to fight in a war. Knocking out two Tiger tanks is amazing as they were the best built tanks at that time. I reckon Jack Baskeyfield is a distant uncle as I was born in Burslem and my name is Richard baskeyfield, if you Google my name you just get bad stuff when I had a mental brackdown but ask anyone who knows me they will tell you that I am a well liked guy. I suffered 30 years of abuse from my X wife, but now I am in a relationship which is amazing. I keep a paper cutting of VC Jack Baskeyfield and when I see it it gives me hope that I can live up to my hero.

Indrukwekkende plaats. Jammer dat de beschrijving in het Nederlands ontbreekt en die in het Engels bijna niet meer leesbaar is. Overigens is het monumentje gelegen aan de openbare straat / stoep dus ALTIJD bereikbaar!

Ik was al lang van plan de plek te bezoeken waar deze jonge militair zijn leven liet tijdens Operatie Market Garden. Een eenvoudige gedenkplaats maar indrukwekkend. Bijna voelbaar wat daar gebeurd is.
