A beautiful museum, walking through the rooms you can immerse yourself in the history of that time, the quality of the building inspires even after a year, everything looks very durable. Here you can also see stuffed animals of various animals, write something on the school boards of that time and look at children's toys that reflect what children of that time in noble families were interested in.

Beautiful estate with a big landscape and walking path. Due to the covid restrictions the inside was closed to visitors but you could still walk on the grounds and enjoy a nice hot chocolate, with a sweet treat afterwards. Very fairytale picturesque!

A super interesting and historical manor house, with a great fournituren, art and porcelain collection. Friendly welcoming staff. Be warned you will need to go up and down Dutch stairs to get through all the various floor and rooms. Also recommend the onsite store and currently the additional porcelain exhibit. The onsite café is also worth visiting.

I had the most beautiful time walking through this park. It's amazing that even though there are other people walking sround you are able to feel all alone. And as small as one expects it to be it's rather big and so many tiny gems to discover..

Imagine being rich, owning a castle and a massive yard thats basically a forrest... and making it a place for the people. Its beautiful, restaurant is good with decent prices. Park is lovely year round. A no brainer for people looking to have a sandwich or a cupper or just wanting to stretch their legs.

Fraeylemaborg is outside the city of Groningen. It consists of a museum and a park behind it. If you kind of an outdoor person and love to explore a historical park, this is a place to go. Formerly the park had a renaissance style but then transformed into English landscape garden. We can see the former design at some part of the park. Several modern elements of landscape art are installed here, making the park has a contemporary touch. Fee entrance to the park is only € 1, and €7 to the museum. If you are a kind of photohunting person, the perfect time to visit the park is during the middle of the autumn.

A beautiful fortified house. Beautiful surroundings, with interesting architectural artworks. We had great time walking the long park behind the Fraeylemaborg. Old, high trees, with woodpeckers and many smaller birds. All in all, a great historical place.

We enjoyed lovely autumn walking. Very relaxing beautiful place.

A surprise around every corner. They are doing major renovations at the mo, but just walking through their forest is awesome

Very well preserved house. You can really see the way of live in the past. All the rooms are open and display for visitors even the attic.

A castle with a splendid atmosphere of 19 century. Friendly staff, picturesque park. On the ground floor you can found a kitchen with oven, pots and servants' room. Above the kitchen there is a Grote hall and kleine hall where wedding ceremonies take place. Speelkamera with ancient toys, bodouir, guest bedroom, library, every day room. Also you have a possibility to watch a 18minutes interview with a last resident of the castle. She was 92 in 2008 and it was her last interview. She recollected her life in the castle and told about the schedule....parking lot is huge and spacious

Beautiful country manor in the Groningen province in Slochten. The tour through the building is educational and fun and the recorded interview with the former lady of the house is overseeing and should not be missed.

Just beautiful. We cycled here from Groningen (not recommended on a windy day) in under 90 minutes, then had a lovely lunch and self-guided tour through the estate. Certainly worth a trip into the countryside! The museum is very well-maintained with info in Dutch, German and English. The library was a must-see, as was the 700-year-old kitchen! The grounds were stunning in the fall and are likely just as pretty in the spring with new buds. Looking forward to the next visit.

Very nice museum to follow a bit of Dutch society history. Everything is well conserved and the state is a beauty by itself. After enjoying the history and a walk around you can enjoy a great coffee with pie

Had filet for supper. So tender you could cut with a butter knife. Great selection of beers. Small restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. And then a nice, quite walk after supper. Great evening.

Really beautiful place! There is a building that is really beutiful for photos, but take a walk around the forest around the building. I´ve been there at autumn, it was really nice. A moment to connect with nature and breath.
