A must go for everybody with intriguing personal stories to make the war touchable. I went there with my 15 year old daughter and she liked it. I could enrich the displays with some back ground info. Questions like what is a glider, what is a radar, what are these metal tripods doing outside and how does a V-1 fly. I would have liked more explanations on how it all works. Some displays are very unique like the boat Yvette and the Lancaster bomber display. Also why not a recruitment leaflet, how to join the army? There were many schoolkids from some high school when we visited. They should also consider a career in the army. War is not some stuffy thing from the past. It is all around us!

For any WW2 buffs, this is heaven! I spent 4 hours wandering through the exhibits. Many well known and underappreciated pieces were on offer to look over, notably a Panzer V and Stug self propelled gun.

For english speakers, the app to bring up English translations was well worth using to get the most out of this amazing museum in a quaint and very important town in the history of Operation Market Garden.

This was our last stop on our trip to visit WWI battlefields and cut across Belgium and the Netherlands. This is a very comprehensive museum full of great exhibits mostly on WWII. Many of them are based on German equipment which one (at least I never found any) cannot find in Germany proper.
A storyboard tells the story of what it was like living on the border when the Wehrmacht stormed across the border as well as what life was like under German occupation. Loads of exhibits show life on and off the battlefield.
Though most of the museum is aimed at World War II, there are many great exhibits of previous and later conflicts.

A friend recommended visiting and we drove over. Very glad to have had a chance to visit and look at the collection of World War II vehicles, weapons, and exhibits. Was surprised to see the collection included pieces from the Imperial Japanese Navy from across the globe. Also learned quite a bit about the battles fought in the area. Definitely worth the trip!

It was wet weather when we visited, so we only got to tour the inside, however the impact I felt from the museum was huge. The sheer amount and types of vehicles really portrays the scope of the war in a graphic way. The Lancaster wreckage display was very impactful as well.

I would definitely go back to explore the grounds as well if I ever get the chance!

An amazing museum! However keep in mind, first part of the museum does not have ENGLISH text for explanations. There are limited places which contain English subtitles.

It was a fun to answer “Dilemma” questions. I havent seen it before in any museum. They basically ask you questions about the situations occurred during the war and asking how would you react. In the end it gives you the percentage of the answers. It was interesting to see how other visitors answered the questions.

2nd part of the museum (with tanks and stuff) was pretty cold (December 20th) I recommend keeping your coat with you in the museum so you can wear it in the 2nd part.

There are many tanks and vehicles that have stories behind. It is interesting to read them. You can learn by whom they were used during the war.

Overall satisfying experience.

P.s. : I wished they have better keychains at the Museum Shop.

It starts off with a lot of interesting information about the netherlands in WW2.
The items are original and the story about it, how it's explained is pretty good.
There is a big hall with alot of vehicles and other war machinery.
They have shelfs and shelfs of different kind of radio's and ammunition / grenades.
And an most impressive layout of the crashed british Lancester NN775.
On the outside there some more tanks and information.

Impressive museum about the second world war (WW2). This is the best WW2 museum I have been too (so far) that describes the reality of the war. The collection of people that experienced the war was very impressive and interesting. They tell the story of different people in the war. The collection of tanks, artillery, other vehicles and planes is impressive. Around these there are weapons, ammo, shells and electronics ordered. Also very interesting are the military bikes and the impressive amphibious vehicles. This is a museum worth the visit. Also outside there is a big nice park.

Initial exhibition area at the front of the museum is a wide open and quite sparsely populated. But as soon as you get to the large "storage hall" in the back that is where all the hardware is stored.
An excellent exhibit is the Lancaster that was dug up from the mud with all the pieces located as part of the fuselage.
Other hardware is in great shape with loads of pieces from tanks trucks and planes.

Had a fantastic tour from Marco & he was very excited to tell us all about the history and let my group of friends and I have a very interactive tour! Fantastic museum filled with history, little bit of everything in there. Definitely worth the hour and half drive from Amsterdam! Thank you very much!

Amazing museum with a great collection of both artefacts but lots of vehicles as well. It also shows the impact of the occupation endured by the Dutch during WW2 as well as their resistance.
It also presents the effects of the holocaust which spread to the Netherlands as well.

One of the most beautiful and detailed war museums I have visited so far. The horrors of WW2 have been explained very well. Must do things when you visit are climbing inside a tank and seeing the hundreds of bombs, bullets and missiles that have been displayed.
The tagline "War belongs in a museum" best fits this place... Worth visiting
