Buiten in de Kuil

Always a great spot for a drink and something to eat after a bike ride or a hike.
Service is slow, but better than normal for the NL standards.
I wish they could open the bottom level for food. Is was busy enough for them to do it??

What a find! Lovely seating area. Plenty of parking. Food was OK. Needed to have number system when ordering as a lot of confusion when food was ready. My English debit card didn't work so take cash as a back up plan.

Delicious burger, price is high, but after mtb trail it does not meter much

Right in the middle of the forest, there is this cute restaurant to fuel up after a nice little hike or bike ride. The also sell the MTB vignettes by the way.

Beautiful place, in the middle of the forest. Great for kids, just spending a day with the bike. We didn't had the chance to try the menu as it was a bbq special only that evening. That was nice but not ideal for vegetarians

Perfect destination after a long walk or cycle of the beautiful surroundings. Nice hot and cold lunch menu in a relaxed atmosphere. Would highly recommend to visit this little restaurant and will return when in the area.

Very nice place in the forest with good food and beers.....

They were serving food outside and people would eat away on the grass. They also served vegan burger and their fries are just awesome :-) I didn't take anything else but the idea of preparing food for the people outside coming back from walking in the woods was very nice.. in these times it is the only way to do so !

Great atmosphere, kind hardworking staff and an environment that is breathtaking. They've made sure you can pick up some lunch and drinks to take to the cozy field in front (no possibility to go in during covid of course). Best part: the food is good! Always feels like a day spent at a Dutch camping with the perfect vibe when we visit Buiten in de kuil!

Always nice to sit down here after cycling the tracks in the forest. Very nice staff serves good stuff to refill the carbs. Before or after your walk or your ride, it is always good to have your pitstop here for food and drinks. The non alcoholic ipa is recommended!

Perfect to do after ride

Nice place with a large terrace in the middle of the woods. When the sun's out many hikers and people visiting the 'kuil' come here for a drink and a snack or lunch. They somehow manage to serve fast and friendly regardless of the crowd which is worthy of a big compliment. The food is also of very good quality. Their smoky hotdog with melted cheddar and red sauerkraut is simply a treat. This place is one of my favorites in the area, much better than the cafes in the crowded town of Lage Vuurse.

A real surprise hidden away in the forest, a piece of peace with good (if not stunning) food.

Located on an elevation in the Lage Vuursche, this restaurant spot manages to be at the same time hip, quircky and professional.

We all loved the food ... 4 clean plates at the end of the meal ... and the atmosphere which is laid back and relaxed.

Shame it closes at 5pm durong the week.

Gorgeous hideaway in the park with a beautiful interior, incredible food and great coffee. Has a lovely outdoor area to bring your kids or dog too, can't recommend this place enough!

Great restaurant to land in after your walk in the forest. Menue surprisingly different from the usual. Lovely snacks and a big variety of teas and coffees.
