Cotto & Mangiato

Great Italian, for anyone wanting to experience Italy in The Netherlands this place is for you! The food is great and tastes amazing. As a starter I had bruschetta with anchovies, really good. And for the main course I had a "Orecchiette con Cime di Rape". If you like anchovies I definitely recommend! Together with a great wine, good service and a cosy atmosphere it's a great place to dine.

I would highly recommend this restaurant. Any reviews written here about the staff…I’d say they are not dutch, but Italian…the owner is really realistic and honest. Doesn’t hide emotions, and I’m okey with that…
You really have to experience it yourself.

They don’t serve chicken dishes, but lots of vegan options if you don’t eat pork or beef.

The pizza I tried the first visit was good.

Or last visit we had lasagna (9/10), lamp chops (10/10) with their bread (10/10).
I enjoyed every bite I took.

Lovely authentic restaurant.. sadly this is where our positive experience ended. Like many others who left a review here shouting seems to be a recurring theme. This is how our evening started when with no place to hang our heavy winter coats, we were told they should be hung on our chair and not by the side of the table. The air conditioning was on full blast and set to lowest temperature possible… we started to understand why the restaurant saw no point in investing in coat hangers as half the tables upstairs had their coats on after their first drink. Upon inquiring about the setting we were met with the owner barking at us. Pizza was lukewarm but tasty. Would not return. Only rated five stars as otherwise Google pushes it to the bottom of the pile.. already looking forward to the polite and inquiring nature of the the owners reply, who of course likes to hear from her customers how to make her even service better… ;)

It was delicious. It was our first time. It felt warm, like a big dining area in a house. Very friendly staff. Will go again.

Wow what can I say! We started with the Sonya salad and it was hands down the best salad I’ve ever eaten. A wonderful combination of lettuce, pear, walnuts and cheese covered in a honey glaze…just wow. Then for my main i had the gnocchi with burrata cheese which was equally fantastic. It’s unmistakable the best Italian restaurant in Scheidam. Don’t miss it.

What a lovely hidden gem! The style of cooking really made us feel as if we were in Italy! Staff was friendly. Pizza and pasta dishes and desserts were all wonderful and I love that they offer a great variety of dishes not often seen in other Italian restaurants in NL. Will return to try more flavours!

Amazing restaurant! So much flavour, the quality of the products are top-notch and the service is perfect! Over the years I've brought most of my family members and friends. When visiting Schiedam it's a MUST!

We love this place! Food and service is excellent. We always feel we've been well taken care of dining at Cotto & Mangiato. It's a favorite dinner destination while in Schiedam.

Very cozy and lovely. This is real italian food, if you ever are around definitely try it out. Very very recommended.

Such a lovely place, with great food and service. I had a parma ham pizza which was simply amazing. The waitress was extremely friendly too. Definitely recommend.
