Museum de Speeltoren

Nice museum with rich history and very friendly staff. We loved it.

It's an OLD carillon, so don't expect bells with stunning sound. But this is a hidden gem. We were there noon on a June Saturday and were the only people watching the grand spectacle of the clock striking twelve, and the nymph moving to the music.

Interesting museum, can see the mechanism of clocktower from inside.

We liked the museum pretty much. It's not big, but packed with a lot of activities and interactive materials. I would say it's kid oriented, whole floor is dedicated to traditional games so would kids busy for at least few hours. There is also an access to tower with acting chimes. Stuff was very friendly and helpful overall.

The oldest bell tower in the world that is still working, more than 500 years after it was built. Amusingly, it also sounds old

Lovely small and interesting museum in the middle of the old centre of Monnickendam. On the top floor you can watch the workings of the old carillon. Exhibits on the area of Waterland and surrounding villages. Check out the website for more info (despeeltoren.nl; also in English)

A very nicely curated museum that gives you an understanding of the surrounding region. I highly recommend it.

Lots to do for kids. Adults can enjoy it as well. Worth a visit.

A little gem, full of details, with a lovely play area for toddlers and young kids.

Sollte man sich nicht entgehen lassen.
Ich werde bei einem Glockspiel vom Kirchturm künftig immer an das Museum denken.
SEHR beeindruckend die Mechanik dazu in Aktion zu sehen.
Auch die anderen Abteilungen des Museums sind nett.
Es wird auch viel für Kinder geboten.

Fraai museum over de geschiedenis van Monnickendam. Hoe hoger je komt hoe dichterbij het carillon welke je zelfs 'in actie' kan zien als de klokken slaan. Zowel van binnen als van buiten een mooi pand.

館內除了介紹Moonickendam的歷史，一個臨時的紙藝術特展，還可以互動式的了解鐘琴錶與塔樓鐘琴的運作方式與原理，是個有趣的博物館。

Mooi museum, uniek in zijn soort en zeker een bezoek waard.
Vriendelijk personeel

De Speeltoren van Monnickendam is al een 1 van de prachtigste monumenten van dit vis stadje met hun oude haven en bruggetjes. De museum moet u zeker bezoeken als in Waterland bent. Voor 12 uur klaar staan, want dan is het engeltje van Monnickendam op zijn best. Foto van de Speeltoren zal ik later plaatsen.
