Fysiotherapie Welkom - Amsterdam IJburg

I have met two ladies in this physiotherapy practice and both are amazing. Specifically, they helped me very much with stress management and back pain issues.

I was referred to them by my GB to help with both mentioned issues.
one of the ladies helped me in releasing stress and learning some useful relaxation techniques. I only needed few sessions to get "equipped" to better manage stress.

The other lady is still helping me with a chronic lower back pain problem. This has been so bad for a while that on some days, i was not able to get out of bed normally, i would scream in pain in the morning and kind of crawl out.. the pain would last for the whole day, i only could move in certain awkward posture, i could not lift things and god forbid i would sneeze (that would cause a sudden posture change and a burst of pain...).

The lady did a thorough investigation and she is offering a wide array of techniques and exercises to help me make things better. And it is getting better! She taught me for example how to sit, in what position to sleep, she gave me a ball and taught me a lot of exercises and gentle stretches. She knows so many methods and she combines them; e.g. once she did kind of deep tissue massage (I guess that is how it is called) - and I went home with such a light an painless back - only then I realized that this is how normal, not-painful back feels and that I haven't felt like this for years. She also offered cranio sacral therapy - and even though this therapy has some supporters and some opposers (it is often in medical field considered placebo), I have to say that it did help me. I think maybe because large part of my problem was stress related; stress probably resulted in bad habits in posture, being tense etc - and the whole combination of methods this physiotherapist is introducing is incredibly helpful. And tailor made!

All in all, my back in not 100% painless yet - but I assess I got rid of 90% pain, which is a huge difference. Most of my days are painless now! Plus now, any time I feel a tense feeling or the pain in my lower back, I know what to do and how to relieve it.

I really recommend this physiotherapy practice; I hope you will find help and pain relief you are looking for.

Meike Berns is lipoedeemtherapeute en heeft mijn levenskwaliteit met 100% verbeterd. Ik kon al vier jaar niet meer wandelen door de pijn en het oedeem in voeten en benen. Na het aanmeten van steunkousen (eerst zwachtelen, later opmeten) 'spring' ik weer op de fiets en loop ik iedereen eruit! :D Ze is bovendien erg aardig en steunend op een ontspannend manier.
