In Den Hoofdwacht

The most central brasserie in Zwolle, with a covered and heated terrace next to the church, in Den Hoofdwacht offers a good variety of plates in an informal setting. The service is not perfect but the staff is friendly. The food is pretty good, mostly fresh stuff and the portions are big. We could sit on the terrace on a Saturday evening without reservation but I would still recommend to reserve if you wanna sit inside. Extra points for how the wine menu, they use the Coravin system so a wider range of wines can be served by the glass and you'll have the guarantee that the wine is in perfect condition.

Food is delicious but I prefer more sauce in salad. Staaf is friendly. Nice location

Great restaurant right on the Grote Markt. We sat in the outdoor area. There are various snacks to eat. We had bread, olives and a cheese platter, all very tasty and very attractively presented. Large selection of beers. I would especially like to highlight the excellent service of the two service staff members.

Again it’s the people that make these places 5 stars and what a great spot!!

I have been here multiple times and every time it's an amazing experience.

My last visit, the server (Joey) recommended great wines and proved very knowledgeable about the different wine/food combinations. Staff is always friendly and helpful!

Price is a bit on the high side, but overall very very much worth a visit!

Fantastic place for drinks and snacks!

Our server, Joey van den Berg, was absolutely on point with the speed of service and was very insightful in helping us choose the perfect wine.

We ordered the cheese platter and I was extremely impressed with the quality of the cheese itself, the presentation (Instagram ready haha), and as a lovely bonus: his colleague Julio Kremer artfully described all of the cheese and sauces for us.

Definitely coming back here soon!

Service was very good, smiling personnel :) I tried the ceviche and the mussels, vvvvvery good. I did also some Verdejo and it was amazing, nice selection :) definitely I should come back to try something more!

Most of people have no the same idea about the place but although this is good place and can have a good view to see the people walking and wondering infront of the restaurant. There is fantastic things you can ask about it.

Het was, later op de middag, nog lekker weer dus zijn we even op het terras gaan zitten. De vriendelijke bediening had snel door dat we er zaten en nam de bestelling op. Brand en rose, met een portie bitterballen.
Heerlijk gezeten. Top.
Moelijk voor te stellen dat hier nog niet zolang geleden auto's reden, nu een gezellig plein. Goed gedaan Zwolle👍.

Heerlijk geluncht op verwarmd terras met een goed geadviseerde rode wijn. Gastheer was zeer vriendelijk en heeft vakkennis!

Met een grote groep uiteten geweest en alles perfect in orde. Kon zelfs op het laatste moment nog iemand aanschuiven en was allemaal geen enkel probleem.
Heerlijk gegeten en de bediening was super attent! Er hing een ontzettend gezellige sfeer en zou zeker nog een keertje terug willen komen.

Leuke gezellige plek midden in Zwolle. In Den Hoofdwacht een plaats waar je binnen of buiten overdekt heerlijk kunt zitten genieten van een drankje of gezonde hapjes. Perfecte bediening en schoon restaurant.

Service goed, eten goed en prijs niet te veel. Voor dit en verse jus rond de 18 euro. De hotdog is vega en echt een aanrader, ook voor niet vega personen.

Oryginalny wystrój, miła obsługa to wszystko daje ogromny plus i zachęca do ponownego odwiedzenia. Z deserów polecam przepyszny sorbet i piwo wiśniowe.
