NYSC Orientation Camp Jos, Jakatai Mangu

I don't know about others but I had a very amazing time at this camp. Wonderful three weeks. Not to lie sometimes it was so stressful I wanted to run away because of all the jam-packed schedules without leaving one with personal time but all attributed to the fun part of it. If you're posted to serve in Plateau, don't panic especially for the camp part because it's a very cool place. It's very neat, the roads are very tiled, the kitchen is very neat and for the hostels, you don't have any problem of water, there's water 24/7, the toilets and bathroom are clean. The surroundings are well kept. The only advice is when coming carry enough sweaters and cardigan and trousers that you can be able to wear your white and white on top of it. You socks for cold. Because the place is really really really cold especially in the morning and late evening and night. They allow you to wear your cardigans and trousers anywhere but with your uniform on top. Orientation camp is a good scheme and it will definitely broaden your perspective cos you get to meet a lot of people different from your tribe and find out that we're all human beings after all. The environment is safe and secure for corp members to serve and as well hygienic as the environment is so well kept. Also There's availability of so many options and choice for Corp members at the orientation camp. Inother words all what will be needed is avaliable at this place

I held a NITDA deep training at the camp and it was surreal to have been the opportunity to talk with the corpers.

And I was surprised on how big the camp is, weather wise it would be helpful to plan to bring along a sweater or 2.

Amazing experience I had and their hostels are very clean. You’ll be lucky if you were posted here. The cold is just unbearable. Get lots of cardigan

The camp is beautiful, depending on your taste anyway, the convenience is not optimal but better than most camps, two pin latrines and 4 water closets in each hostel. The bathrooms are quite nice too, about 5 per section and there are two sections in each hostel.

One thing you really have to pay attention to is the cold, it is intense and not a rouse, your bedsheet will be very cold at night, if you are coming to Mangu Camp you come prepared, socks, turtlenecks, leggings everything you need. Hot water flask will also be useful.

The camp officials here are quite nice, very nice actually but you know soldiers sha 😃, you must be on your heels at all times.

Prepare to carry bag on your head when you arrive and you are walking majestically sha, especially Monday - Thursday.

Registration is straightforward, no long queues of complicated processes.

Lastly, don't journey a night, Northern states are usually hot areas for insecurity and banditry right now, come early and enjoy your camp.

Lovely for lovers of cold weather... Hostels are neat and OK. Food is always on time and palatable.

NYSC Orientation camp mangu is the best orientation camp to be. It has nice weather condition and clean environment.

NYSC permanent orientation camp, Mangu, is indeed a place to be, It looks more like we're closer to Canada with the weather since it's usually very cold in d mornings and evenings but d sun at noon is hell scorching as well. When coming pls try and come with sweaters, winter jacket, popsocks/long thick socks as the case may be, sweatshirts, head-warmer, hand gloves as well as anything that can help in keeping you warm. Trust me, you'd love this place, it's indeed an adventurous place to be.

Mangu Camp was obviously purpose-built. The facilities are quite good and can be better if the maintenance of the place is highly put into consideration. The clinic needs to be better equipped but we made do with the current situation.
My experience would've been much better if only the people I shared a dorm with were more cultured in the toilet/bathroom habits.
The evening skyline is to die for.

The environment in Jos is quite cold but very interesting. The landscape is a beauty on it's own

The overall camp experience was nice. The facilities put in place were better than I had initially thought.

It should be rated amongst the best NYSC camp in Nigeria.

Most confess it was much fun than I ever could ve imagined. I doubt there could be any camp in Nigeria that could be better than it. Maami was so legit

Mangu camp is a nice place to be for all corp members. The environment is cool and awesome.
