My latest adventure took me to the vibrant heart of Nigeria, where I bunked with long-time family friends in a place aptly dubbed "the cockerel." My gracious hosts then escorted me on an exhilarating excursion to a remote village named Erio in rural Ekiti. Our destination: the fabled Mountain of Mercy (Oke Aanu), a legendary peak and popular pilgrimage site renowned for its miraculous healing powers and breathtaking vistas. Though my hosts had yearned to ascend this storied mount for over 20 long years, my pep talks finally convinced to them to seize the day! Together we embarked on an epic climb up the hallowed trails. As we neared the summit, the views became ever more stunning. When we finally touched the weathered cross at the top, my hosts broke down in joyful prayer, their lifelong dream fulfilled. I'll forever cherish shared memories of gazing out across lush forests and farmlands now far below us, as golden sunlight bathed the holy mountain.
