I came in at night 🌃 after asking my friend where we could get good local meals. This Iya OYO restaurant has a good environment & calm location to spot for our local Nigeria Neal. The basically sell it Amala ,semo & rice with beans. But if were born on the street on Nigeria, you would never miss hot Amala at dis place because it soft & balance with so many kind of assorted meat filled in the point which you can stare 🫣 at while standing at the counter. They have good customer relationship with individuals which make it easy to interact, they sell chilled & soft drink to Balance your meal. They need to improve the kitchen set-up for important people to show interest in the restaurant, that is always room for improvement

Iya Oyo Amala has the best Amala i have eaten in Abuja so far.

The food is quite affordable. Their portion of Amala is 200naira. The portion is really small but they use quality yam flour, so the price is justifiable.

If you are in a rush, i will advice not to go there because the queue can be so exhausting. The place is mostly congested, reason i always do take out.

They have a decent parking space that could accommodate cars. The environment is really spacious and neat. It is Wheelchair accessible.

Overall, the Amala is good. The goodness will make you overlook the queue. Enjoy!

I love how neat and organised the place is. It was my first of many times to go back there. Definitely one of the best native food in the city of Abuja. I enjoyed the tasty and sizzling spicy of the soup.

So I'm giving a 5 star but reasons that might shock you. This place offers variety of local meals especially the Yoruba cuisine of Amala (swallow)and gbegiri soup , with kponmo and beef as protein amongst variety of other dishes. All these I expected, but I was shocked to see that a place to simple looking, with little asthethics could pull such crowd of people of Calibre from different walks of life to queue before getting food.
Strange sight but it showed me that sometimes your reputation, diligence and effort draws the crowd.
I love food and from where I stood, I could see the process of making the Amala clearly and it was beautiful to watch. It also had a well organized system of serving food, and payment.
The experience was EPIC!!
Please ignore my tired face, that queue behind me was a tip of the iceberg.

Amazing local dishes. Best Amala plug in Abuja. Strictly cash transactions though. POS and bank transfers are not acceptable. The queues can be really long too

Quite native taste of their meals, guess the cash crunch allowed for them to introduce POS services which is easier for the working class.

Service is great and friendly.

It's a rush hour especially around 2pm when it is classified as break time for most working class. The parking lot is relatively okay.
